Hey there :-) Im 24 and I had my first attack last month too. I was actually sleep and I woke up real quick to my heart racing so fast that I thought I was having a heart attack. I went to the hospital TWICE and both doctors said it was anxiety. But hell it felt like I was gonna die. I was afraid I was gonna die :-( so now Im afraid that Im going to be a drug addict because of the xanax and stuff. But Im up everynight till about 3am because it seems my symptoms return at night. Probably because I had that bad attack at night. But yeah. I get the chest thing, pressure in my chest, choking feeling, breathing issues, numbness in my limbs WHICH always makes me think Im having a stroke. So everynight Im online looking up stroke symptoms and heart attack symptoms. Its nerve racking. But listen, Im learning to deal with this. Your not alone in your battle. Im actually glad I found this forum.
SO tomorrow i go in for blood work and a chest xray =)
They gave me a prescription for Naprosyn today and say i could have a cyst or a throid problem. The pain is different now it come about 5 mins after waking up and it almost feels like i have a gas buildup under my right breast bone, also the pain is more intense then before. I noticed that if i dont take these pills every 4-6 hours the pain comes back right away and worse then before. Anyone had these problems?
It is good to hear that you're feeling a little better Manda. As for the numbness on the right side of your face, I've been experiencing that myself the past few days and I've dealt with it before. Your anxiety can make that happen and so can terrible allergies/hayfever and sinus issues.
hello again.
for the past couple of days the meds have helped alot untill today i took one when i got to work because i have been having chest pains and the right side of my face has a numbness.. its kinda going through my whole face too though. im just really scared
I'm breaking off klonopin and I too have been suffering with a attack today. Chest pain, high pulse. I'be been bringing it down slow but hit a wall today. Just talking about it helps. The meds were a blessing at first but now a curse. I feel worse anxieties now than when I started the klonopin 2 YRS AGO. HANG ON AND WE CAN MAKE IT !
I am "Sorry" to hear You're going through such a hard time.
I wish You luck and hope that this new medication does work for You.
Let us know how it goes.

Hi & welcome to the group.
Im sos sorry you experienced a Panic attack. My most intense panic attacks have been pretty much the same as yours, a quick crushing feeling in my chest, almost burning too. Most people think at 1st its a stroke or heart attack. You are doing a wonderful thing by reassuring yourself when you feel that way that it will pass, although its uncomfortable the less attention you give it the quicker it usually passes. Give yourself credit for getting through them. The Lorazepam should help keep you calm but its best to speak to someone as well. talk therapy can help you learn some cognitive skills, get top the root of why you are having these attacks & to deal better with your anxiety. I feel for you. I had my 1st panic attack at 19 and i was feeling pretty much like yourself. Im 38 now and have been living a pretty active normal life. I never let my anxiety stop me. I still have moments or days that are more bothersome than others but the tools, meds & cognitive therapy throughout the years have helped greatly. This group is also a great source of support so please visit us & keep us updated.
Be Well
