by carebear86, Feb 28, 2007 12:00AM
I am a 20 year old female. I have had my gallbladder removed, and I have IBS. I have been having chest pains. But, I don't have aniexty attacks. Can you just have chest pains with aniexty and thats all? I have been prescribed xanex, but I don't notice the pain going away. Any help or advice is appreciated!

Hi I am 23 years old and I also experience chest pain due to my anxiety. My chest pains will last for days of hours and my Anxiety prescriptions usually don't help. I usually will think that I am having a heart attack and repeatedly check my pulse. I definetly believe that you can have anxiety related chest pains and not have anxiety or panic attacks. When I have chest pains I usually try to go for a run or excersise. I also try to breath really deep or pray. Hope this helps. Best

It may also be gas related to the removal of your gall bladder.  I had mine out at 17...i am forty now...many times I have gotten pains in my chest area that ended in a burp or belch!  First check with your doctor...if your heart is fine, then anxiety and/or gas from the gall bladder removal is the culprit!!!
