Chest pressure due to anxiety or somethign else?

I was wondering about something, about 3 weeks ago i went to my doctor because I had chest pressure which was something i never experience. She hooked up a ekg machine to me and my heart came out normal and she put a stethoscope to my back and said my lungs sound goo too. I'm a ex smoker (quit just recently) She said it was due to anxiety because the pressure comes and goes and she didn't find anything else wrong with me. Reason why I'm still worried about this off and pressure is because I use to smoke and I have this congestion with thick white mucus that I had for a while(have no cough, no chill, no other serious symptoms). Or should i not worry because my doctor didn't give me a reason to be concerned or should i go back and have further test of my lungs

Hi,
I quit smoking and felt chest pressure/tightness for quite some time afterwards, it's normal, your lungs are healing.

Thought it was cardiac related, had cardiac tests done, results returned normal, had pft done, results returned normal.  It will pass, relax congratulations, kickin the habit.

You do what makes you feel right. Ask your dr. to refer you to a cardiologist. If you did quit smoking just recently then you will be coughing up "gunk" for awhile.  Or if you do feel better going to a lung specialist, then ask her. Remember, they work for you.

Good Luck
