Chicken and Egg Panic

Chicken and Egg Panic

I have found one of the most disturbing trends of my panic attacks is to seem non-temporal.As in, i dont know what started it, what will end it, nor which parts came first.

In a typical major panic/dizzy, a pressure behind my eyes is generated. This immediatly preceeds the panic, by mere moments. But I cant tell which causes which. Its maddening. I get this sort of thing a lot. When i turn my head during a severe attack, it causes dizzyness..but its not clear if the head turning is causing the dizzyness, or if the dizzyness is a result of fear about it. Because agian, there seems to be no temporal seperation between the events. And its driving me quite mad.

Well...........we can't possibly just stand here and watch this drive you mad, so our suggestion is that you drive yourself to your doctor and tell him what is going on. He may want to look into why you get the pressure behind your eye just before each attack as well as the dizziness when turning your head. While very common with anxiety, both of these could be signs of vision problems, inner ear infections, migraines, sinus issues.......they all need to be ruled out before anxiety/panic can be ruled in.

Most of us don't have an answer to the chicken or the egg theory until we've been in therapy for awhile. Anxiety and/or panic can come totally out of left field with absolutely no known cause or trigger, or it can result from a very specific event. Do you have any idea what is at the root of YOUR panic? Because until we figure out why, and then deal with it, we'll remain in the same rut for a very, very long time.
I wish you the best
Peace
