Cipralex (escitalopram) Medication

by jdtm, Sep 05, 2007 08:13PM
Our 14 -year old daughter is taking 10 mg of Cipralex each morning after breakfast.  She has been diagnosed with severe social phobia and depression and this medication helps her to function in school and life in general.  However, she has great difficulty falling asleep as well as staying asleep; and then often rising at noon the next day.  Is the dose too high or too low, or should the medication be taken at a different time of the day?  I know that sleep issues is one of the side effects, but so far this medication is working the best for her - have tried Effexor and Prozac.  Any suggestions?
