Cipramil Withdrawal

Hey Everyone,

Over the past 5 days i have cut my 40mg daily cipramil dosage down to nothing and tomorrow i start on 25mg of Zoloft, i did this increments although it seemed mighty fast due to the fact i have been on the medication for the past 4 years.

I did this by medical advice due to the fact that I'm suffering severe panic attacks and anxiety at the moment and apparently zoloft deals a lot better with anxiety than cipramal, so my GP said and DR in the ER when i went in thinking i was having a heart attack, although they are both SSRI's.

My main question is, what withdrawal symptoms should i except to experience, if any?

While the change over is happening I'm taking .5mg of Xanax when needed, when i feel a panic attack coming on.

As all people with panic disorder i'm worried there might be something else wrong, docs love to claim anxiety alot.

Hearing about any experiences or advice would be great

Thanks

Hi there, I can't help with the withdrawal of Cipramil, but I also take it and have been wondering if Zoloft would be better for me.  Would be glad to hear how you got on.  Unfortunately one of the problems with anxiety and panic attacks (which I also suffer from) is that it makes you panic starting/stopping medications because you are afraid of what they will do to you.  From what I've read the side effects of both are similar, although naturally they will effect different people in different ways.  The first couple of weeks are the worst - let me know how you went.

Cheers

So no one can assist me with what to expect from the withdrawal of Cipramil and the side effects of Zoloft?
