Thank you so much ..I googled it and found now interactions so Im going to try the combo tomorrow because the L-Theanine helps my anxiety a great deal....This Citalopram really ***** :-( i hope it gets better
Your prescribing psychiatrist will probably know absolutely nothing about natural remedies. They don't study them unless they do it on their own, and most are taught to be hostile to them in med school. It's financial competition. That being said, it's unlikely there's enough data on drug interactions to say for sure, but there's nothing about it that suggests it would interfere with an ssri. You'll have to do your own homework on this one, however. Google it, you'll be surprised what you'll find when you google stuff.
I think you should consult with the doctor that prescribed you the Citalopram. I found the first couple of weeks that I was on Citalopram rough....really rough, but everything seemed to smooth out after that my anxiety became more manageable....and then eventually dissipated to the point that I could deal with my problems and concentrate on getting well.
I wish you all the very best :-)
