Combination Drugs

by AliceLondon, May 21, 2008 09:13AM
My doctor recently put me on Cymbalta and Clonazepam.  He mentioned in our session that I might have a bit of ADD so I thought thats what the Clonazepam was for.  However, after reading online it looks like its for Anxiety....which i have.  My question is, why would he put me on the Clonazepam if Cymbalta also helps with anxiety.  I feel like I am taking two meds for the same thing.  What are the benefits of taking these together?

Cymbalta is also mostly used for an anti-depressant.  I would recommend if you are still unsure then question your doc; don't take anything that you are unsure why you are taking it!  (But if you have already started taking it....don't just stop taking anything cold turkey either!!!)  Your doc should offer a very clear explaination as to why both of these meds are being given....if not....time to find a new doc.

Good luck!
