Constant Nausea

Constant Nausea

I've been having constant nausea now for about 2-3 weeks. Im going to see my doc this week, for other reasons, but Im going to tell her about the nausea aswell.

Is constant nausea part of an anxiety disorder? I've readed that nausea and vomiting (once in a while) is normal in anxiety, but almost constant nausea? Is that too?
I don't wake up nauseous, but usually when I get up and start doing stuff it comes, but not always. Usually I start getting nauseous in the evenings.
I've been having headaches for a few weeks aswell (on and off) and we have migraine in the family, but...I don't know what the nausea really is.

Im afraid this might have something to do with my brain...

Oh, another weird thing...This constant nausea has taken my sweet tooth away, but not my appetite. I eat normally but it's just the candy (even though I eat some amounts, but very, very little) that I can't eat much anymore. That worries me, because I have a serious sweet tooth!! (No stomach-pains either.)

I have nausea with my anxiety almost every morning and some evenings. It is for sure one of the many many symptoms of anxiety. It usually goes away by mid afternoon. I also get migraines and have nausea with those also. So it could really be from either one. Ask your doctor to run some tests, make sure your not pregnant, and I'm sure she will tell you its just anxiety. If all your tests come back fine try hard not to think something is still wrong. That is the key to controling your anxiety, controlling your feelings. Its harder than it sounds though, I still struggle with it daily, tho Im begining to get it under control.
Good Luck

I have suffered nausea for 6 months accompanied with headaches.  It was all due to my anxiety...went to many doctors...mri's, CAT scans...blood work...etc....Believe it or not, anxiety can do it all.  Have a complete check up by your doctor and then take it from there.

I can't be pregnant, unless it's the holy spirit. Heh heh.

And thank you so muchCaliGirl48 & Suzi-q for answering.
Hopefully my doc will send me to a neurologist or atleast do a CT-scan.
The only thing they've done to me right now is blood-tests, thyroid test + b12. Nothing else...

Next to all this I've been having eyepain and sore eyes aswell...Right now It feels like there's something in my left eye, wich is freaking me out, because I've read from many places that it might be a sign of a brain-tumor. This is all so difficult for me...I can't live like a normal young person!

I know how scary and crazy it is!  Just hang in there.  You will make it through...and without any brain tumors etc....I had it all!!  I thought I had brain tumors, lupus, MS...anything I could get my hands on...It was crazy.  Once your work up is done and you prove to be healthy, you can then take the necessary steps to feel better.  It is very hard to "get better" until you truly admit to yourself and believe that it is all related to anxiety.  But it is, and you will!!!

I have off and on nausea and feeling too full if I eat too much. This started when I was under extreme anxiety well over a year ago and have now lost 20 pounds. It took me six months to start eating ice cream again which is my favorite food. I still don't do well with sweets either. I don't know if I'm having anxiety from the stomach issue or if my anxitey is causing the stomach issue. I have had an upper GI and it came back normal and just had my gallbladder checked and it too came back normal. Now my Dr. is sending me to a gastrointestinal dr. to see what he can find out for me. That appointment is not until the end of Jan. so I guess I keep putting up with this awhile longer. Like you I am now more anxious always worrying about what's wrong with my stomach. Now I don't know what came first the chicken or the egg. I too have no pain just nausea and feeling too full. I have to be so careful what I eat or when I eat. I can't eat anything before riding in a car out of fear I might get sick. You said you were going to the Dr. this week can you let me know what you find out about all this? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the same fears. :/

Hopefully everything will turn out ok this friday when I have my doc appointment. She thinks it's all related to anxiety, but seeing this has lasted for 12months now and I continue getting new symptoms...I hope she will send me to a neurologist.

Im very worried about the pain in the eyes too. I can't find any site that would talk about eyepain relating to anxiety. I know it could be from being in front of the computer for too long, but Im still worried. ESP because my opthamologist did not find anything in my eyes the last time I was there, but said "usually pain in the eyes is not caused by an eye-decease, but something else." She said it could be the neck or some muscle in the eye that is swelling. But why? An eyemuscle relates to the brain! (this shows I know way too much and I shouldn't know nothing...It's seriously better to be kept in the dark than know...Hahah)

(The last comment I made was for Suzi-q! :))

Im quite happy about the fact that Im not eating much candy...But it's still abnormal for me to not be able to eat much of them.

I know that people who don't even have much anxiety react with they'r stomach when they get stressed. It's very, very normal! + I've readed a lot of people having nausea and going through the exact same tests as you and all have come back negative for them too. I don't know if these people have anxiety or what, but they don't know either what's wrong with them. (all readed through the internet. I was doing a search on my constant nausea, hah hah)

My dad used to have a lot of problems with his stomach. He thought he had stomach cancer and would vomit a lot. In the end, he went through all possible, horrible, tests and all came back negative. It was all in his head. He believed it when his doctor told him that...But I...Im still here. Not believing anything. Wish I wasn't so difficult. -_-

I seriously hope this nausea will pass, because I have no intentions to go to an upper GI nor gastrointestinal...Unless Im in a coma. I hate hospitals more than anything and tests that cause pain.

I don't feel full after eating, just normal. My appetite is normal too, but I just feel nauseous and burp once in a while. (wich is apparently aswell a symptom of anxiety because you are swallowing too much air?) Have you gotten your allergies tested and hearing checked? Sometimes nausea is caused by the ears.

And yes, I will post here after going to the doc. :)

Re: eye pain. I can't speak to your exact symptoms, but I wanted to let you know that I have something similar.

When I get very stressed out (not internal anxiety, but like, a deadline at work or something like that) I get these terrible eye twitches - mostly my left eye, really. It doesn't feel like I have something in my eye, just that I can't stop the muscle from having its little convulsions. Besides being annoying and embarassing, it's also somewhat painful. But 100% stress response. Hope this helps you put a bit less focus on the terrible rare disease symptoms you've been googling ;)

No I haven't had any allergy tests or my ears checked, I guess that might be next if they don't find anything out with the GI doctor, thanks for the ideas, anything would be helpful at the point, I'm really so tired of all this. Good luck to you at your doctor appointment, keep me posted. I bought Prilosec tonight and am going to start that soon and see if it does any good.

When I am stressed (or even if I just think about it).  I get this weird sensation in my left eye.  It is like someone is pulling it out of my head.  It feels like pressure.  I get it all around the socket and all.  When my anxiety and my negative thoughts are at their worst it starts up and can drive me crazy!  When I am not stressed, it is virtually non-existent...unless I think about it!  (Like right now!! LOL)...see, I just brought it on.....it is amazing.

I get weird sensations in my head, back neck.  I've thought of many medical problems that I could and have gotten checked for.  It's hard to differentiate between the two.  This seems like a common them amoungst anxiety sufferers.  Thank goodness.  Those doctor bills can really get up there :)
Anyways, I've had everything from thinking I have asthma to brain cancer.  I used to get an intense burning sensation on the left side of my head.  Like it was in my brain.  I also get nausous and lately find my bones ache.  This is not all in your head though.  Just keep a positive train of thought.  Don't let yourself freak out because you have unfamiliar or out of the ordinary pain.  I tend to freak out.
Where were you guys when I first was coping with this problem. Sure could have used the support.  I was so depressed and scared. It's easier when you find people that are the same.  Thanks so much.
By the way, I have tips if anyone wants to share any with me.

Ok, Im back!

Yesterday went well, even though I just spent 15minutes inside, lol.
She's going to do some autoimmune tests on me, because she thinks the eyepain I've been having, sore eyes, nausea and headaches could be cause by some autoimmune disease. I have no idea wich one, because she didn't say anything. :/ Im a little worried tho, because cushings (a tumor in the head) and ms are seen as autoimmune diseases aswell...Christ, just can't get rid of the horrible one's.

I tried reading about the autoimmune diseases, but the only one that seemed decent was asthma. Then again, could be that she just wants to do these tests to me so she wouldn't need to send me to a neurologist, because that was the mainreason I went to see the doc yesterday.

I'll be getting the results in a week or two.

Suzi-q; I remember when I was afraid I might have some neuralgia pain in the cheek, that while talking and thinking about it, I got an electric shock in my cheek. It was definitely caused by my brain. Even I can admit that. :D

Oh btw, I've been tested for thyroid problems and they were fine...But apparently there are 2 more tests that could show that there indeed is a problem with the thyroid??? I wasn't done those 2 tests, so Im gonna discuss it with my doc, because apparently thyroid problems could cause really bad anxiety and tons of symptoms. Even eye-problems, when it comes to my case. It's just that if this is really caused by some thyroid problems, I don't want to get in to a surgery. :((((

I have had these symptoms that youare having for 2 months now. My doctor told me that I had anxiety and that i am having panic attacks. I constantly have a headache on the left side and sometimes on the top of my head and the pain travels to my eye and to my jaw bone. I was worried that I had pressure on my brain or a tumor. I had a catscan and a spinal tap and the tests came back negative. It is always good to check with your doctor and run some tests though, to keep you worry mind at ease. I hope you feel better.

I got the results from the blood-tests, and they were all negative.
Now Im going to wait so that I can get to a neurologist.
I asked my doc if she thought my eyesoreness could be because of of optic neuritis, but she said it seemed more like a retina thing, but if the eyedoc didn't find anything...She thought the whole thing seemed a little weird.

I guess I should be happy that Im going to a neurologist now, but for some reason...Im not.
