Constant anxiety please help

I'm a 23 year old girl who has been dealing with anxiety for over a year. Last year I started getting light headed and thought there was something wrong with my heart. After multiple tests the dr came back with nothing and I realized that it was just anxiety. My dr put me on lexapro and I was doing really well on it.
Unfortunately a few months ago I started having problems with my platelets being low. My dr and mom suggested I stop taking the lexapro for 3 months to see if they were causing the low platelets. They were not the cause. At first I was fine being off the medicine but now the anxiety has started to kick in again, especially since I have to get a bone marrow biopsy done this week.
I'm in a very prestigious radiology program where I can't afford to let my anxiety get the best of me. I've already missed a few days because I have gotten so overcome with feelings of dread and lightheadedness.
I need some advice on how to ward off the anxiety until my medicine starts working again. Please help!!

Thank you for the advice! I called my dr and she is giving me an rx for Xanax until my lexapro kicks back in.
I know most of it is stinkin thinking because I focus on the anxiety. I missed more school because of it but I won't let myself miss anymore. I need to practice my positive thinking and breathing techniques. I also thinking when I see the therapist on Thursday will help.
Has anyone had any issues with nocturnal panic? Because that has been my most prominent issue lately.

I dealt with this moths ago. Going to the therapist will help a lot. In the end it's all about a state of mind. What helped me get through with it?:
1- Knowing that this won't kill you
2- Putting myself in situations that made me anxious and trying to handle them
3- Getting enough sleep
4- Blowing steam by working out.
5- Playing games
6- Breathing exercises.

I hoe this helps.

A simple and quick solution would be Ativan. It begins to take effect in about 20 minutes and will chill you out for around three hours. It's a Godsend.

I suggest that you also seek to get at the root cause for your anxiety. It could be that you are burning the candle at both ends, aren't getting sufficient sleep, are not dealing well with stress, etc. Or you may have some "stinkin' thinkin'" going on. Consider seeing a psychologist/therapist to see if they can help identify that's going on and how to overcome it.

I pray that your biopsy results are negative. God bless you!
