Every morning when I wake up I am dizzy when I get out of bed, followed by a pounding heart beat, up in the 100 bpm range. My feet are warm when I rise, but within 15 minutes both of my feet are cold as ice. My heart rate will drop back down to normalNormal saline flush but rise again after I eat a heavy meal, or whenever I stand up from sitting too long. I have extraExtra strength mylanta calci tabs Extra strength pain relief heart beats all day, mostly when standing, but when I'm sitting as well.
When I first developed my anxiety disorder my heart symptoms were so unnerving that I would have full blown panic attacks daily. After being thoroughly examined 7 years ago, and was given the all clear, I came to terms with my anxiety disorder and rarely ever panicked WITHOUT CAUSE. About 2 1/2 years ago I undertook a 15 week at-home self-help program that helped me regain the ability to leave my house, drive a car by myself, and redevelop my social skills which had all but died.
But my feet are still always cold, I am dizzy every morning and at different times throughout the day, sometimes while sitting, and my heart pounds, and has extra beats whenever it wants to. My feet and legs up to my knees tingle all day, I have a slight tremor in my hands which are exceptionally warm at times and sweaty. Its like I am in a constant state of anxiety that rarely culminates into the classic panic attack. I worry mostly about the extra beats that sometimes happen 5-10 in a row. Does anyone else whose had anxiety for a long time experience these things too??? I am going to a new dr. in mid-June, so I'll have to wait a while to have my heart checked properly, but if just one other person whose been battling this disorder has/had similar daily symptoms I will have some peace of mind, and may be able to talk myself out of being convinced that I am dying from heart disease.
Thank you all for your support!!! It means so much to me!
I understand what you are talking about on a few things. From the moment I wake up untill I go to bed, anxiety is always on my mind. Sometimes I'll just be sitting and watching tv and my heart will just start going so fast, I told my Doctor about it and she put me on a heart moniter, it came back all good so now I look like I'm lying about the racing heart. I feel for you and I hope you get it under control.
hey i know the feelings your having ive not had panic or anxity in a long time well my mom had cancer surgery which took 12 days in hospital , i was there by her side the whole time my mom and dad live with me so i also take care of her at home, while this surgery and test are going on i start having lots of pac which were on a 24 hr montor i have had them foe years , so i knew they would not kill me but i had them for 9 weeks my dr switched my meds 3 times now they have stoped but and so stressed i think from all thats gone on, i do have ativan and end up taking one at least everyother day. they do help but i hate taking them , i dont want to get used to them. i feel shaky and weak every morning and a little sick at stomack . at first i was blaming it on the new heart pill atenolol but my cardio dr says it does not cause what am having so i guess its just stress, as i write this my ears are tingling, so i know its stress just cant seem to get over it. my mom has been home a week now and alls good with her so far and my flutters are very few now so why cant i get beyond this. yes i know how you feel and its not a good feeling . i hope you have a better day today. i hope that for all of us . .barbara
Hi-yes, I know what you are talking about. I developed anxiety disorder when I was in the 10 grade in high school due to afriend of mine being shot and killed. I only got "control" of it about 4-5 yrs ago (I am 31 now). I try to recognize the symptoms and talk myself down, read the Bible and pray. Hope you feel better soon! :)
I suffered with similar symptoms, including waking up in a cold sweat, whether it was summer or winter. I did experience tingling of the extremities, but not sure if that was related to anxiety. I was able, with the help of a holistic doc, to say goodbye to the anxity for good, and I am free as a bird now. One of the things I did was start taking St. John's Wort and Omega 3. It has worked wonders.
Of course, I'm not advising anyone to go off meds. That's up to you and your healthcare professional.

Thanks so much to all you guys for sharing your symptoms with me, and the advice you've given me means more than I can put into words. I know from experience that just talking/thinking about your symptoms can make them appear or get stronger. It just feels so good to know that there really are people I can talk to out there about my condition and not have them pity me at the same time. I am planning to have my thyroid levels checked, a full blood work up for vitamin defencincey, and get another event recorder to check out my heart. If the docs say I am ok after all of that, I will be seeking professional help for my anxiety. I refuse to take meds however, unless it's medically necessary.
Hope everyone has an "up" day tomorrow!!! Thanks again!!!
