Could stress really be causing my palpitations?

by fearfactor, May 25, 2007 12:00AM
I have been going through extreme stress for about the past month.  Some terrible things have happened to myself and my family.  I have a history of heart palpitations and have gotten all the heart tests, only to be told it's normal and I'm fine, go on with life.  Well, the palpitations settled down for a long time when life was easier, and now they are back again.  Does anyone else have palpitations and notice they get much worse when you are going through stress?  I would really like to believe it is just stress causing this and not that I'm going to DROP DEAD or anything like that.

Yes, it definitely is a symptom..i find that when I have stress, i get those skips....I had an ekg and all.  It is from anxiety.  If you are all checked out by your docs, then you are too!

I  get paplations to when Im in alot of stress. If you got  test done and they are normal your fine stress can do alot to us.  I was scared when I felt paplations always going to th doctors cause I thought something was really wrong but all my test came out good. Yes stress and anxiety can cause paplation try to relax your not alone you will be fine.

Stress can definitely cause palpitations.  I've had them during particularly stressful times and always thought something had to be wrong but as soon as the stress was gone, the palpitations went away.  If your doc checked u out and found nothing then try to relax and work on what is stressing you out.

Stress and anxiety absolutely make them worse. Try to ignore them. Worrying about them will bring more.
