Depressed, just what to give up.

Hello just completed yesterday day 3 of zoloft 12.5 mg. woke up this morning nauseous and hyper. I starting having thoughts that I can!t do this anymore. I got scared and called my therapist, he said that I am just scaring my self. Has anyone felt this way. Very frustrated. I don't want to do anything, go anywhere. I know my problem is that I go on the computer and read every side effect and worry that I will have this. I don't want to die, but I'm scared that I even thought about it.  I have had morning anxiety for a few months, and and can't take it any more, just want to go forward.

No, you cannot affect the medication's effectiveness, but you CAN make your anxiety far worse, which makes it tougher to get under control.  You really have to try harder.  It's not going to happen overnight.  You have to try to find acceptance. The sooner you do, the easier this process is going to be.

Your right. I'm so frustrated. I was so active a few months ago, but now I don't want to do anything . I wake up these past few days hoping things will be better, but there not. I hope this medication will help me. I love life and my family and I want to enjoy it. I'm just impatient and want it to happen right away. Can you stop the medication from working by fighting it?

I've said the same thing, but you continue to do the opposite.  Your therapist is right, you're scaring yourself.  You HAVE to shut the computer off and get busy with something other than worrying about this.

You are your own worst enemy right now.  You HAVE to make an effort if you want to help this process along, you're just sabotaging yourself.

Yes i did. but honestly cant remember when it started to get better. But its not uncommon to be weeks before it does work. (of course that was my medicine which was not the same).

Ive kinda gotten a setback from my anxiety (hopefully its just a small period.)
But a month ago i could be the posterboy for success. And i have to say meds were a giant factor.
Luckily my meds did not give me any noticeable side effects. But it took some time to get working. All i can say is, focus on the other side. Stick to it and think as positively as possible.

Hi 4Sophie::  I am also on Zoloft 250 mg. daily.  I only get the Zoloft name one, not the generic.  You've only been on this for 3 days.  The side effects will go away, just be patient.  It usually takes any where between 2 to 3 weeks.  By the amount you're taking i'm assuming you're taking the long acting one.  I couldn't tolerate that one.  If you don't start feeling better that might be something to consider talking to your dr. about.  Good luck.
