Do you have this symptoms or it's just me???Please read!

Hello,
I've been dealing with anxiety for many years. I was wondering if you guys have these symptoms or I am only one. Maybe this is not anxiety?? Here what I feel on dily basis: frequently wakeing up first half of the night, GENERAL OVERALL UNEXPLAINED DISCOMFORT (hard to describe) it is like feeling unexplained pain inside, inability to feel pleasure, relaxed, happy, can't relax, feeling disconnected, tired, unable to concentrate, no motivation, don't want to socialize unless I am going out and there is some alcohol, everything is so hard to do, ringing in ears, doom, constant quesioning when it is going to stop, is it possible to recover, dizzy, drowsy sometimes, uncomfortable in every way, not myself, headaches, full head, fogy head, hard to feel the environment, just dusturbed all the time, concentrated on symptoms etc. Do you guys feel the same, this unexplained discomfort??? Durring the day my symptoms come and go, I dont feel well for 3 hours then much better for 1, then again. The worst is early afternoon when I am at work and I have to function normally. I am taking .25 of klonopin twice a day, vitamins, reading books how to help myself, I also go to yoga classes since 3 weeks. I started believe in recovery and I am trying to do it but there is all the time thought that i suffer frome someting else or something that is impossible to bereak. Please let me know what you think!

I am new to this site and find it very informative and helpful already!
I find that exercise helps me to reduce my anxiety levels- be it a hard session in the gym or a gentle swim or yoga. This gets the endorphines- 'happy hormones' going and I feel like I can cope better.
I also noticed that changing my relationship with food helped and can recommend a great book called 'The food and mood guide' ( sorry I can't remember the authors' name at the moment).
I also take homeopathic remedies: 'lycopodium' for chronic anxiety and 'aconite' when I am feeling panic. I got them in boots the chemist and they are in Holland and Barrat aswell.I usually take 2 pills 3 times daily and it has helped. They shouldn't affect other medication that you're on but I would check with GP or see a homeopath.
I find that bach rescue remedy helps aswell (from boots chemist), as does reflexology, massage, aromatherapy massage and reiki- all of which I have tried.
I hope that helps.
Lets work to allow that strong and very capable person that is within all of us, to come through and show our fears that, actually, ' YES I CAN!'

If you are not able to control your symptoms with the suggested nutritional changes (the best way to go, by the way), do see an endocrinologist, if you have not already done so.
Your symptoms sound so much like hormonal imbalance, it would be worth it to see if you need supplementation of a hormone, or have hormone excess. Many nutritionists work with docs and labs and can order specific tests many doctors will not bother with.

I recently read some info that supports the belief that low DHEA levels (the adrenal hormone that can be converted to testosterone and estrogen), combined with high cortisol, and especially high prolactin, will cause anxiety and panic attacks. A situation like this could be caused by endocrine lesions, and other endocrine disorders.

Hopefully your problem is not this complicated, but finding out what your cortisol and DHEA levels are is something you could have tested, to see if this is contributing to your anxiety.

My son had symptoms very similar to yours. I finally took him to an endocrinologist, who ordered an MRI, which found a large pituitary cyst, causing severe hormone loss, by compressing the gland.

Best wishes,

Enzy

I can hear ringing when my anxiety increases, so it lasts for 3 months sometimes. I hear it in the morning and in the evening really strong. When my anxiety gets better the ringing subsides. I heard that temporary hearing loss might be caused by anxiety. Good luck Kristine, email me if you would like to talk!!

Really? That is great to hear, that is what my ear specialist said I had, but my Dr. was surprised to hear that I had it, and didn't think it was related to my stress or Anxiety. It is the strangest feeling, my hearing goes muffled and then I get the ringing, it doesn't last long, but to this day, it is the one symptom that still freaks me out and will often times scare me enough to bring on the other yucky symptoms!

Thanks!
Kristine

What you explained, are my daily symptoms as well. All day nervousness everyday for me though, I can't seem to shake it. But from the sounds of it, you are experiencing very normal symptoms. One thing that you said made me feel better, I also have ringing in my ears, and I have never heard anyone else say that! I have been to ear specialists and everything!

Good Luck to you!

everyone has probably already covered everything i'll say here...i didn't read anyone elses post, so i don't know for sure...but i will say your symptoms sound closer to depression rather than anxiety, though they do both go hand-in-hand in most cases. i didn't hear you mention any kind of preventative med? that may be something to consider with your doctor. more so is engaging in things that you enjoy. it isn't a cure-all...but it does help to engage in activities you really enjoy and to make a point to be social. thats a hard one for some people...but it does help even if you experience anxiety over it. i don't believe in regular use of benzo's unless absolutely needed...i believe more time should be spent on getting to the root of the problem first. as i said i think you lean more towards depression, so the question is what are you depressed about most? i already know how to answer that question for myself and i'm working very hard to resolve it...to get to where i really want to be in life. every accomplishment i make towards that goal makes me feel better. the question itself, though, is very hard to answer without serious thought. it's not uncommon to have far more than 1 reason. i could tell you my reasons as an example, but those reasons can define a person for who they are, so i keep mine personal with the exception of those closest to me.

anyway...maybe my method only works for me. i don't know.

all symptoms of anxiety. i feel for ya. ive had almost every symptom you've mentioned.
I HATE the "mind chatter". CONSTANTLY thinking about "when will this leave? will i ever feel better?" It's really exhausting when that's running through your head 24/7. But you are on a way to recovery!!! =)

you are going to recover before you know it. exercise is a BIG helper!!! =)
I'm taking a little lexapro, not much...5mg... but the Dr. said if I excersise everyday... make it a routine... i will feel better much faster... and im already feeling better after 3 days of excersise.

Today I had very good day. I barely felt some anxiety. I felt pleasure, I could concentrate at work, I was able to a lot of things. Today also I feel like I am alive, I am willing to go out, talk to freinds on the phone, move my ***, do the laundry, socialize, talk to people, make jokes, I feel emotions. Is that normal that today I feel much better and I want to do all of this things and yesterday I didn't feel well and I didnt even think to do all of this?? I am afraid of bipolar, are those symptoms of this illness or my anxiety?? Can anxiety hurt so much for a couple of days and then subside and you have almost normal day????

Your symptoms are classic anxiety.  I think most of us would agree with that, as we've all been there.  Continue to do the positive things that you are doing to get better, and be patient with yourself, as recovery doesn't happen overnight.  Eliminating alcohol is key!  Alcohol is the very worst possible thing for anxiety.  It may give you a false sense of relief at the moment, but later, or the next day....you will feel MUCH worse.

Keep on fighting the good fight and keep communicating with your doctor.  You may need some med adjustments...or even dosage adjustments.

Hang in there...anxiety is rough.....but it is not impossible to beat.  It just takes time.  And faith.

OK, first off, the post by Marin is very informative, I would sure give what she has said a try.

Secondly, your symptoms all point to heavy anxiety, and the more you worry about it, the worse it will get. I have almost all those symptoms when I am really keyed up or in anxiety mode. I get dizzy, have morbid fears, ears ring, short of breath, upper back and neck spasms, heart flutters, feelings of unreality, you name it, anxiety can cause it. I try to eat well and take good food grade vitamins and minerals. Prayer, for me, is also a big help.

Try not to worry, and try to distract yourself if possible by doing things you enjoy. Like I said, your symptoms are anxiety, and they are either brought on my improper diet, lack of the right minerals and vitamins, lack of rest, and even lack of exercise.

Please keep us posted on your condition, we are here for you.

I get dizzy too, and most of the time I can't breathe and feel as if I am about to pass out. I have to lay down for about 15 minutes before I feel better. I'm not sure if meds would help or not. I am kind of waiting to see if it gets better or not. Is there anything you do that helps you feel a bit better?

Poor food & water can cause all those symptoms.  Start with pure water, fresh organic vegetables, some protein, but don't overdo it.  Try eliminating all dairy products (I know, I hate it, too, but I feel a lot better), gluten, SUGAR, just about anything sweet, carbonated beverages, booze, processed food, refined food, smoking.  I know, it's hard to do, and none of us are thrilled at the thought of giving up our favorites.  But you did ask!  Go to the health food store.  Ask for a good probiotic.  You want a high live-cell count of a multiple variety.  Take the probiotics and enzymes with everything you eat, even with snacks, along with the vitamins and minerals at meals.  Sometimes vits and mins rev you up too much to sleep well, so you may need to take them for breakfast & lunch.  You want a good brand, not the cheapest.  Those things will help you get the most nutrition absorbed from  what goes past your lips.  Get good sleep.  If your life is so chaotic that you can't remember to do anything, it seems, then make a chart for ea day of the month.  Check it off.  Sure, you'll forget & cheat on your diet.  But aim for the best.  Fortunately ea day starts the rest of your life, so it's not the end of the world.  You can do this!  Just keep trying!  See the dr & do what's recommended.  But follow these suggestions, too, and you DEFINITELY will feel better.  You didn't get into this shape in a few weeks or months, and it's going to take a while to feel better.  Make a list of all your symptoms.  Ea wk check the ones that you still have.  You'll see the check marks disappear.  Good luck.  Let us hear how you do.
