Dropping sensation in chest

Lately when I get up and move around I experience this weird feeling in my chest. I don't really know how to describe it other than it feels like my heart is dropping and then I can't breathe. I have to gasp for air when it happens and I'm scared. Last night I had a really awful panic attack because I thought I was going to stop breathing. I also had convinced myself that my lungs were filling with fluid and I could not sleep. Every time I tried to, I would jolt awake from this strange feeling.

So the question: is this anxiety? I'm really nervous that it's not. Any help is greatly appreciated.

So breathing deeply helps it go away?

Hi! It could very well be anxiety. I have the same symptoms quite often. I've learned to do deep breathing and I can normally regulate the feeling.
