Drug help -PLEASE

You may be aware that an extensive drug database is now online at Medhelp. You get to it simply by typing the name of the drug in the search box. Among the results, you'll see articles and information about the drug.

Medhelp, however, thinks that might not be enough, because so many people continue to ask on the forums for info already in the database. And so, they are proposing that the forums have their OWN little drug database comprised of the medication information regarding drugs the members might be taking or have prescribed for them or even just wonder about.

And so, I have been asked to pull together a list of drugs that members in the Anxiety community often ask about or talk about. Note -these are meds you ASK about and/or TALK about -whether or not you actually take any of them. Let me broaden this to include the drugs you even JUST WONDER about.

Please respond to this post by naming those meds and drugs. Medhelp will then put together the information about them -which will appear under the Health Pages section in its own database, just for this community.

Thanks, everyone, for your usual good attention.

Also, if MedHelp could list the most common generic name next to the brand name, that might cut down on some confusion....and the length of the list. : )

Xanax (alprazolam)
Valium (diazepam)
Klonopin (clonazepam)
Etc.....

Some more to add would be:

Traxedone (desyril)
Clonodine
Serax

Most excellent suggestion by FMXSMKR to put the "common" name by the medication. Would also suggest that all generic names be included. I don't know if they would want to get into adding the names from other countries like Canada and the UK, but we do get a lot of posters from these countries and many of the same meds have vastly different names.
Just a thought.

Great and easy to understand Ryan.  Good post and very helpful to us laypersons.

Greenlydia brought up good drug names also.  I think JSG will be able to sort through the material and figure out how to present it to MedHelp for their review. Good job you two.  There certainly are alot of drugs out there that deal with anxiety and depression.

P.S. Alot of the drugs you named above are used in treating the various complaints of those with MS, also, since depression and anxiety can play a big role in the up and down lives of those suffering with MS and chronic pain.

Don't forget about Ludiomil, another member of the tetracyclic family.

Also, Remeron goes by Zispin and Avanza
