Probably not at any age.  Your age would indicate lower dosages than when you were younger, but going off Effexor might bring on a withdrawal, and Zoloft is in a different class of drugs.  Switching from one drug to another never guarantees there will be no withdrawal.  Not to say this doesn't work for some people, but caution would say quit the one so you can gauge your withdrawal and then start the other so you can gauge its effectiveness and side effects.

Oh, and taper off slowly, preferably under the care of a psychiatrist experienced and caring about withdrawal possibilities.  You might not get any, but if you do, it's nice to have someone there who can guide you through it and most psychiatrists can't or won't.
