EFFEXOR

Hello there, I stopped taking Effexor about 2 years ago and was on it for about almost 3 years. I was on 150mg daily and as I can recall I believe it helped out a lot with my anxiety. My question now is that my doc has prescibed me Effexor again since I'm going through hard times with anxiety and mild depression, would  it still be effective as it was before? Since I've taken it before, will I experience the same results, side effects etc? Thanks in advance.

No way to tell.  These things aren't predictable, unfortunately.

I was on Effexor for over 5 years . Although it helped with my anxiety, I was still experiencing depression. During this time we tried other meds., but it wasn't until my doctor abruptly took me off of 300mg of Effexor 150mg twice a day and put me on Welbutrin 150mg twice a day, that I thought my world was ending. "Brain Zaps", lack of sleep, feel as if I'm two different people, angry ect...When does the transition period end. People are telling me to hang in there, Which is better Effexor or Welbutrin?

I have suffered with depression all of my life due to an abusive childhood. I have 225mgs of Effexor every day and it is the best antidepressant Ive had, having tried numerous others. As far as I am aware I dont suffer side affects. I know it is the highest dose allowed and have to be monitered regularly. I would love to wean myself off but am dreading the long process, also I dont know if I will go back to that black hole I used to live in. I have got so used to feeling and not wanting to die. I have been on it now for 15 years. Does anyone have a similar experience?
