Effexor and Imovane (zoplicone)

This is the combination I am on right now. Some claim imovane does not help with anxiety, but I swear it does, and seen others who take it also claim it does, my mom for instance takes it and I noticed her relaxed and more talkative. Also had a freind addicted to xanax, previously oxycotin, who takes some and also said it definatly takes the edge of. Infact we noticed little difference between this and his ativan really, both can be used for sleep, except my doctor wont touch a benzo, but will shell out zops when I want.

Anyway what I am asking about is I am on 150  of effexor, and 1-2 tablets of imovane.
I feel relaxed and dont really feel the anxiety anymore.

My first queston is.
1. Why when my doctor tried me on 225 feel worse, but on 150 I feel better.
2. I am taking 2 tablets of imovane, sometimes and I swear that is helping with the extra energy and anxiousness one doctor said would be a side affect. I definatly have more energy, but the imovane also seems to make feel calm.

Anyway Im really confused concerned about ths working for me, I dont really understand it. All I know is effexor is hard to get off of and the sleeping pills really seem to help for anxiety, I dont really know whats going on but would like to know why this is working so well.
