Effexor users

by bettyblue79, Mar 31, 2008 07:01PM
i have taken Effexor for 5 years now, i started at 37.5 and have been all the way up to 225 mg. i now take 150 mg a day. the higher i go up the more anxious i feel, i try to tell my doctors this, but they seem to think i need to be on 225, when i am i feel numb, no feelings and no sex drive at all. i'm a 28 yr old female in a good relationship, i don't want to miss out on that part. i also take clonazepam (klonopin) i am currently waiting to see a psychiatrist to see if they have better suggestions for me. i don't feel the med is working anymore. anyone else feel this way? i heard wellbutrin is good. i do suffer from depression as well, but mostly anxiety. thank-you :)

So sorry to hear that effexor doesn't work for anxiety.  I've tried a lot of the antidepressants for anxiety and none of them work for me.  The only med that works for me is xanex.  I kept trying to have an AD work and heard that effexor works pretty good.  Does the klonopin not work for your anxiety?
