Everyone with heart sympoms

by DoubleAron, Aug 13, 2007 01:03PM
Hi Everyone,
I was just curious how many of you have heart related anxiety and what are your symptoms.
I'm 30 yrs old , male, 50 overweight. I have palpitations everyday, some times I get them were my heart feels like it stops for a second and I can't catch my breath, then I feel this rush go down my arms, then everything turns back to normal. I also have high blood pressure, and used to have a fast pulse till the doctor put me on metoprolol. I worry about my heart everyday. Have palpitations, chest pain, allthough I think it is more chest wall from me pushing on it, skipped beats. This is ruining my life!! I currently take 100mg of Metoprolol, 20MG of quinopril, .5mg clonazepam twice daily. I was just curious what your symtoms were and how you cope.
Thanks in advance for all your help!
Aaron

Hi there!  My "anxiety" seems to be only related to cardiac symptoms.  I have promised my kids a trip to the pool so I'm heading out but there is a post from 6/12/07 that I started called "anxiety or heart".  It doesn't list all my symptoms but it has a few great responses from the people on this forum that may help you.

I'll try to post again when I get back with the kiddos.

Take Care.

I get palpitations aaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllll the time. Sometimes they feel like skipped beats, extra beats, flutters, thumps, suddenly racing or just beating really hard.  Really really really scary.  So i know what ur going through.  Its a pain when ur somewhere enjoying yourself and then it happens, your day is pretty much screwed for the rest of the day.  I dont know if that happens to anybody else but it happens to me and I'm sick of it!!  I try my best not to let it control me but I find myself turning down invites sometimes and its not fair to me or my family.  Any suggestions.

I had heart issues in 95 to 96.I suffered from very fast heart rate out of the middle of nowhere.I was in and out of the hospital and was told many many times that it was anxiety,I did not agree,so I went to a new doctor after months and months of having an ambulance and advanced life support come and pick me up.They stopped my heart in one trip alone 10 times and said I had super ventricular tachacardia,I was then flown out to a hospital 2 hours away.I was pregnant at the time.I finally (after my son was born) he was 7 months to be exact was told that I had WPWS....WOLFF PARKINSONS WHITE WYNDROME....It is a very hard heart condition to find on an EKG.I went in for a E.P. study and they found that I had an abnormal pathway in my heart and that I was born with it,and that the stress of my pregnancy on my heart brought the symptoms on.WPWS is very hard to find,it took them a year and a half to find out what I had.I went in for a 6 hour surgery and have not had any problems since then.It has been 11 years and I am so thankful that the doctors finally found it.I just thought I would let you guys know of my experience because alot of dr's and hospitals will right away say anxiety because WPWS is not easily picked up on an EKG.Before my heart was fixed,my heart would beat up to or from 110 to 250 a minute,if you are having heart palpitations, really check in to it,and bring up WPWS,though it is rare....

Well thanx for scaring the heck out of me!!! What kind of tests would actually find the problem.  I've had ekg's, 24 hour holter monitors and echocariograms done.  I've also been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, but it's under control now.  I also have four children.  The palpitation thing comes and goes.  It seems as if I can almost control it.  Did you have any other symptoms besides a racing heart? Please let me know.  Now I'm freaked out!!

My heart has gone 270 times a minture before.I can't stand or walk around when It happens or I will faint.  I also was born with an extra paythway in my heart that I need to get an Oblation ( not sure the spelling) for. It is very scary I have been dealing with this for almost 18 years. I get PVCs which you heart actually does skip a beat and the begins again with a kinda THUD in your chest. I HATE it!! I can't wait to get it fixed!!

don't get freaked out... seriously, luvmybabes had a RARE condition.  With all your heart tests, and I"m sure you've had lots of blood tests, they would have found something by now.  If you worried, ask your doctor about defects of the heart, and if there are any tests which can find them...symptoms of heart conditions as well.  palaptations does not mean a serious heart conditions...more than likely its anxiety.
