by hazyworld, Jan 10, 2009 05:57PM
hi,i have been throught so much and im no sure whats going on.On Nov 13 i was taken off risperdal and switched from ativan to xanx.I kept switching back and forth between ativan and xanax till dec 3 when dr took my aivan, then she put me on depakote well that made me feel bad and the xanx made me worse depressed so i took my last xanax on dec 31 and was put back on ativan,,,in between all this my face cheeks started burning kinda feels like from the inside out,A week ago friday i was put on klonopin and told to take the ativan as needed only and Monday i was put on Lexapro,,well now my legs feel like that are burning from the inside out as well as my cheeks,I was afraid it might be serotin syndrome as u can get that from ssris but then i remembered my cheeks burning before i went on lexapro,,PLEASE does anyone have a clue,,,also i seem a bit more depressed since on the lexapro,,,,,i ws on ativan for 4 months before the change over so i dont see how i could have become allrgic to it,,,but it seems the burning happens after taking a ativan

Those burning sensations are normal for anxiety sufferers.  Even though you may not feel anxious when it happens.  I had them all the time when I was switching meds.  I don't know your age, but menpause also can cause the symptoms you decribe. I used to get a huge chest burn that went down my arms and often that was enough to lead into a full blown panic attack.  Klonopin has worked the best for me.  It seems to calm that nervous system down.  It should be taken regularly to prevent attacks. It didn't really work on an as needed basis. Lots of ups and downs w/ short term benzos.
