If you have Acid Reflex or digestive problems, they will cause anxiety. That is what my doctor said. Sometimes it is hard to figure out which happens first. Also, anti-anxiety meds can help with some of the difficult symptoms. I feel like you probably have anxiety from the terrible loss you suffered (sorry to hear that). You might want to try a therapist or church group if you cant afford it.
I am so very sorry about your son. Remember, anxiety can have its ups and downs just like anything else we go through with life. In my experience with this, one day we can be fine and another we can have a really bad day. Panic can also strike out of 'nowhere' in my opinion as well. It definitely can make it feel like my throat is closing up and I am gasping for air. Are you in counseling for your anxiety? For me, it really helped to talk about the sources and why I was on edge. Just don't get down on yourself when you have bad days; you are entitled to them and we all have them. Please keep us posted and keep your questions coming!
Do you suffer with GERD (acid reflux)? If this feeling of choking only occurs while eating
than I'm sure this is what it is. Otherwise it could be stress related. I am so sorry about your son, there is no greater loss than that of a child. This is weighing heavily on you, it doesn't matter how long it's been, it is extremely difficult to deal with. Nobody can possibly understand unless they too, have lost a child. I lost my oldest son, 11 years ago and I still struggle with it. I hope increasing your Xanax helps, but if not, go back to your doctor, you made need a different medication completely. You made need therapy to help deal with your loss, some things are too big for us to handle alone, and you are dealing with one. God bless you and your son, take care....
