Fluoxetine (Prozac) effects help.

Fluoxetine (Prozac) effects help.

I have been taking prozac for a little over a week. This is the second time, but the first time I was switched from one to prozac so I didn't get off track, but I quit cold-turkey a year ago and now I am starting back up.

Especially in the mornings I wake up with a pounding heart which persists all day. I know I am having constant anxiety, but since I uped the dose three days ago to 20MG I've been feeling very jittery, like I am about to jump outta my skin!

For people who've taken this, does this go away? Is this normal? How long until I start to CALM down instead of get the jitters? I am also taking lorazepam but have been taking it for 5 years as needed, and I feel like its not working as well anymore.

I feel literally like running around and jumping out of my skin and it doens't feel good. My doctor told me that sometimes you feel worse when you start a medication before it feels better. Have you experienced that?

Please let me know. I feel tweaked out. I can't relax enough to sleep!  Like, I feel like I'm on the verge of a panic attack, but I am not having panic attacks.  I just feel like I need to run away from something.

Thank you.

SOme of these medicines just make you feel that way. My dr put me on lexapro and in 3 days I was so agitated, I came off of it.

I have been on 20mg of Prozac for 10 days now and I am going through the exact same thing.  I am very worried for my heart.  I went to see my Dr. but she told me to keep with it. Can I ask how things have been going for you?

I'm on 25mg of Prozac and it did take me a little over a month to get use to it. They say you need to give it 4-6 weeks to start working, but you know your body best and if you feel like it's making things worse, then definitely let your doctor know. I started on Zoloft but it made me feel horribly jittery and I couldn't sleep at all. I was only on it for about a week and a half before I switched because I just couldn't take it.
