Freaking OUT! Please help!

I cant catch a break! Every night I feel so weird! Right now im laying in the tub and I took one .25 xanax and its 1130 at night. Im having the worst stomach pains! I have dull pain in my upper abdomen and sometimes I'll have a sharp pain right under my left boob when I move a certain way or breathe in. It hurts! My stomach keeps growling, Im not hungry or anything. My heart is doing flip flops and I have a slight tingling/prickling feelings in my chest, head, in my feet, my left hand/fingers, and my muscles are twitching mostly my calves and knees right now and my arm. Wtf! I've felt like this for at least 3 hours now!  Im super dizzy also like it feels like my eyes are crossed and I have pressure in my forehead. What is going on! What can I do?! Im about to give myself a horrible panic attack!

Those symptoms are very common with anxiety.

For 3 weeks now I've had a constant tension headache. Muscles are literally so tight around my scalp and head, and even neck.

It feels like a rubber band around my head. Even feels like nasal pressure as well. But its just the tightness from the muscles.

I feel off balance with it a lot too sometimes and getting shooting pains.

But I have surrendered to it, and have accepted it as anxiety.

I don't even take medications anymore for it. Been off of em for roughly 3.5 years.

So, anxiety CAN still do weird stuff.

Be careful on the xanax. "When needed" can get you in trouble sometimes.

I prefer to take one once every few months. I don't ever want to go down the benzo trap again.

I also get muscle twitching A LOT. All over my body. It's totally normal with anxiety. It's called BFS. Look it up, it can not harm you one bit.

I recommend a book my Claire Weeks called Hope and Help for your Nerves.

It's my med free way of understanding anxiety etc. and how I can choose to accept it and let time pass. My anxiety always eventually fades away.

I have faith that yours will too. :)

Let me add, don't take magnesium at the same time as your Xanax, as drugs for mental problems usually use the magnesium pathway to get to your brain.  That's one reason they interfere with magnesium absorption, and vice versa.  Also, do you consume a lot of dairy?  It's very high in calcium but very low in magnesium, causing an imbalance between the two.  And do you eat a lot of green leafy vegetables, the best source of nutritional magnisium (and calcium, in the proper balance)?

I ask because both benzos and antidepressants interfere with magnesium absorption.  A lot of what you're describing would apply to someone with insufficient magnesium, but of course could also be caused by a lot of other things.  You might try supplementing with magensium citrate or taureate, and you can also try Epsom salts (magnesium salts) in your hot tub.

No, I'm not on anything at the moment. I just take .25 xanax as needed.

Could be a magnesium problem.  Are you on an antidepressant?
