From Celexa to Wellbutrin

From Celexa to Wellbutrin

My doc just took me off Celexa after 2 days. I have bad nausea, no appetite, a tingling needling feeling up both arms and my skin feels like it's crawling all over, I felt like I was burning up. I used to take Wellbutrin for my anxiety and it did great. I felt way more confident and at ease while on it.
I was told to take Xanax if I felt I needed to. .25mg and I was out for 1 1/2 hours. I couldn't stay awake. I'll try half next time.
I hate trying so many meds. Doc said I could start Wellbutrin tomorrow. Do you think it should be safe?

If you are following what your doctor says, then in my opinion, you are doing what you are supposed to be doing.  Just remember that there is an 'adjustment period' when one starts, stops, switches, adjusts dosage with these meds.  For me, they actually put me a little more on edge for a couple of weeks, but your doctor prescribed you Xanax while you switch...I find benzos useful, if needed,  when switching medications in the short term because you can build up a tolerance fairly quickly to them as you adjust to the Wellbutrin...keep us posted!

Why did you start taking Celexa if the Welbutrin worked well for you?  Just wondering.  I take Celexa and had the same prob in the beginning.  It did go away.  My anxiety is not completely gone.  Just thinking that maybe I should have tried Welbutrin.  Did it keep you awake???

I saw a different doc this time because mine wasn't available. He said wellbutrin is usually for depression and since I came for anxiety that I should try something more geared to that. I took wellbutrin this morning and it relaxed me for a little while. I have been getting hot flashes all day and don't have much of an appetite, but I don't get sleepy. I hate the side effects. I don't feel like doing anything. I can't believe one big anxiety attack and my body has been screwed up for a month. I hate this jittery, on edge feeling.
