Frustrated with doctor and panic attacks?? Someone please help!!

I went into the doctors today for having shortness of breath for two days straight going on my 3rd with a lil chest pain not bad at all just a lil pain! All she did was listen to my lungs and heart and said I must be having a constant panic attack and to take more xanax!! I just started taking Xanax like 2 weeks ago I am on the very lowest dosage I was taking 2 a day and I have been feeling a lot better until I got the shortness of breath I have only been taking one a night I was taking 2 as soon as I woke up and now I only take one right before I go to bed b.c thats the most time I have to think and so I am sitting her scared to sleep b/c I still have shortness of breath and a lil pain I have also been having really bad sharp shooting pains as well in my head?? My anxiety attacks have def calmed down I still have appending doom thoughts and why are we here and I think I am dying and blah blah blah but I don;t get the passing out feeling that I was geting every time I thought about that stuff......It still scares me soo much its always in the back of my head..I have a very low HR (48-55)but my blood pressure is perfect.  My short of breath is like a small child sitting on top of my chest and a tight feeling I can still get deep breathes in but its like breathing through a straw does anyone else get that? and does anyone else get the low HR with anxiety???? where they feel the urge to pass out...usually if I feel that I panic and my heart jumps...... also what is with the weird headaches??? I am also on a heart monitor for a month and i have like 5 days left on it and It will go off if it detects something on its on and when It goes off I get scared and think my hearts going to give out! SOmeone just help me and tell me what symptoms you have????  I dunno what to do about the doctors either I feel like there missing something....I am seeing an eye doc next week or the next week b/c I have been getting floaters....anyone else get those! Please someone just help :) thanks!

So sorry your going thru this;-/  I don't have any answers for you, I was actually coming on this forum becasue I'm trying to figure what is going on w/my 13 year old daughter.  She is experiencing some of the same things you are.  She's been having this weird quick deep short breaths daily (some days worse than others) for about 4 months now, she says her chest feels a little tight too.  She has always had headaches, so that's not new.
She's a happy girl, a bit of an over acheiver, she does put stress on herself to get good grades, is busy w/piano, & plays year round competitive soccer, so she's in good shape & is able to do all the tough HARD running which is required @ training, but has been using her inhaler for it lately.
We took her to the ER one day cuz she was complaining a lot, & had a deep cough, but had Xrays done & all was good, they gave her a breathing treatment, & was fine.  The specialist told us that she just needs to relax, & take longer breaths, thats when she breathes this way to use a paper bag, cuz it's not her asthma, she is loosing I think the CO2???  so it's messing up her breathing pattern.

Anyway, your not alone, I'm thinking it's for sure anxiety, which is very hard to deal with.  I suffer from a mild case of it, & I know how scary it is;-/

Hope you & I both find some answers.

Once anxiety kicks in we tend to open our mouths that bit wider as if to gasp for air. Which only makes things a lot worse. That alone could bring on other symptoms. If you think of someone trying to grab all the air they can into their lungs it would bring on a tightening of the chest. If you could try breathing through the nose and then out through the mouth. It should restore a balance to how you breathe. Because you are not open mouthed clutching at air. It will take a bit of practice. But the second poster, your daughter should find it easier if she plays soccer. It would be like 3/4 of the way through a game. You are out of breath. The exact same thing. In through the nose and out through the mouth. But all this will do, if done wrong, is bring on more symptoms because you imagine the worse. Is it a heart attack. Then you react to that thought. Start focusing on the heart rate. Etc, etc. It just carries on and on. It is all about learning old skills we once had all over again. Skills we forgot how to use. It can be done with pratice.
