I have been on PaxilPaxil Paxil cr for over 3 years. Starting in April, I reduced my dosage from 5mg to 2.5mg and had a week of anxiety, but eventually subsided. I was doing fine for over 2 months then in July, I started to have mild anxiety on and off for 6 weeks. I then went off of all PaxilPaxil Paxil cr for 2 weeks, but then I had panicPanic disorder Panic disorder with agoraphobia attacks and physical anxiety. I have no racing thoughts or worries. This appears to be stress related and it's all physical. My doctor told me to go back on 5mg which I have for the past 3 weeks. I have really bad mornings and it seems to lessen as the day goes on. I have read that sometimes when you restart PaxilPaxil Paxil cr, your body doesn't take to it well. I need to know if I need to increase or switch to something else.
It is so odd that I was going to ask a question this morning that is very similar.I have been on 5 mg of paxilPaxil Paxil cr for a couple of years and Ive been having a flutterAtrial fibrillation/flutter feeling in my chest for 6 weeks now.Ive had tests and heart monitor all show nothing.DR told me to up my paxil to see if it would go away.Last night I took 7 and a half mg and woke up this morning anxious and nausious.Im not sure if this is normal or not.so if you hear anything please let me know and good luck to you!!
First of all, 5mg is a tiny amount, but I guess it's all you needed. But the Paxil didn't cure you, it just suppressed your anxiety. When you stop, your anxiety is back. Only therapy can cure it, not that it will but meds won't. So either you need to stay on an ssri or other anti-anxiety med for now, or deal with it without meds through therapy. It doesn't sound like too bad of a withdrawal considering what most go through quitting Paxil, but it does sound like you just haven't solved your problem yet.
