Going to an office Holiday Party tonight - scared!

I'm supposed to go to an office Holiday Party tonight, I worried about it all day, took my Klonopin and a long walk but I'd rather not go.  I don't drink alcohol and feel very anxious among lots of loud people, almost everyone drinks and I'll be an outcast....wish I could call in sick but I've done that in the summer, when they had a BBQ.

What to do?? Take extra Klonopin before I go?  Or take some with me - just in case panic strikes?

Take a Klonopin and go!  You won't be an outcast, you'll be respected for sticking with who you are! Chat it up, and have fun. Once you get there you'll have fun, and it's politically correct to attend the office party.  The company is wanting to show you a good time, and they do notice who doesn't show up for "their good time!" LOL Really, try to relax and have a good time, find someone you work closely with so you feel more comfortable. Get out and have some fun, I know it's hard but you can do this.....and deserve to be a part of the celebration.  Then on Monday you will be able to chat about the party and not feel awkward that you didn't go.  You can excuse yourself and leave early, this is acceptable.  Have fun!

Thank you so much for your advice!!  I'll take the Klonopin with me I guess...don't want to appear sleepy.  It is VERY hard for me to get out....and socialize.  I really wish I didn't have to....but then again it's all about overcoming our fears, right?

I wish I could get drunk....darn meds :(
