HAS ANYONE BEEN "FULLY CURED" FROM ANXIETY?

Hi,

I have been suffering anxiety for about 5 months now.  I noticed I have been getting better.  Most days I feel better, but then some days I don't.  It just tends to fluctuate.  But I have always wondered, will the feelings and symptoms of anxiety ever go away?  Such as obsessive thoughts, scary thoughts, racing thoughts, worrying..which really gets frustrating.  Supposedly there is "no cure" to anxiety...just ways to cope with anxiety, which I have done already.  But sometimes these thoughts are uncontrollable and just come in and out.  Sometimes I tend to get sad over my anxiety because I feel like I'm not the same person I used to be.  I was just wondering if anyone or anyone know anyone who has been "cured" from anxieties?  Especially putting an end to obsessive, racing, scary thoughts, and worrying.  Thanks!

sad to say NO, when you have had anxiety it tends to come and go , now it can go away for years mine did i was anxiety free for 4 years than it was back, but what you have to do is learn to live with it and know what causes it like figts/to much caffene, be in tune to your body. am now 49 had since i was 23, but there are times it goes away for months /years. i know when it was gone the 4 years i was walking on a treadmill every day i felt great. pills will not take it away omly help you get through it better , you  have to make your mind stop the thoughts and its so hard. hang in there it will get better but , when it comes back just remember that you been through it and it did not kill you .

There actually is an answer to your question.  The fact that the severity of each anxiety sufferer differs the path to the almighty "cure" also differs.  Anxiety feeds off itself, and that is the irony most people have difficulty dealing with.  It starts off as nervousness, then it grew to anxiety, and once anxiety overloads - it becomes a full blown panic attack ,or some other form of generalized anxiety.  You freak out because you are experiencing a high level of fear and dread. The more you fear the worse it gets.  The harder you search for a cure the more it solidifies your belief that you are afraid of (ironically fear and anxiety).  It will take time and hard work to reprogram your subconscious (where your true beliefs lie), but it is the ONLY real cure that will free you from high levels of anxiety.  Remember, you do not want to live without fear or anxiety - they are what motivates us and sometimes keeps us alive.  It's the anxiety overload and cycle of anxiety growth you want to end.  If you had zero anxiety and got angry at a person twice your size, you are likely to get smashed.  The fact is once you have high anxiety, it's very likely you diagnosed yourself as a severe sufferer. The fact is if you're still going to work, am able to leave your house, and am able to socialize albeit uncomfortably...most likely your case is pretty minor.  If not, then medication would be a good start.  Once you understand that your perception of the severity of your anxiety is blown way out of proportion you can begin to retrain your thoughts and thought patterns.  First off, be honest with yourself and write down the 10 things you fear doing the most.  Do not write down things you just fear, i.e., death of family or loved ones.  Write down things you fear DOING, i.e., public speaking, being the center of attention, etc.  Once you have written them down, list them in order of difficulty from least difficult to most difficult.  Once you have completed the list, start with the first item on your list and DO IT!  Keep on doing it until you no longer fear it and move on down the list until you have completed all 10 items.  During this time, exercise on a regular basis.  Jog for a few miles a day, exercising will help release your "happy hormones" and keep anxiety and depression in check while you reprogram your beliefs.  Cut out all caffeine from your diet; soda, coffee, chocolate, pain killers, and anything else that contains caffeine.  You do not want to put any nervous system stimulants in your body while you recover.  Lastly, cultivate a thought that you will replay in your mind for the next few months.  The thought will be this.  If you are alive and reading this post, that means you have already survived the worse.  You have also managed to survive all the other fearful, depressing, and awful events that you have experienced in your life.  You are a survivor, there is no denying this fact because you are alive and fighting to be healthy mentally and physically.  Your anxiety is trying to tell you that you are afraid, but your life and your history has always proved that you are a survivor.  Your thoughts are just a thought, pinch yourself and know that you have survived everything life has thrown at you thus far and you will continue to survive.  This thought is very important, you need to know and truly believe this fact that not only are you a survivor, you have a high tolerance for negative events.  Most people wake up and go about their day without anxiety, you do the same with that dreaded feeling and that is what I call courageous!  Have faith in your recovery and know that this works.  Lastly, soon you will lower your anxiety to that of a person who doesn't suffer from anxiety disorder and there will be one last job to do to reach your ultimate goal of being anxiety free - for life.  That is to live your life to the fullest extent.  Do what you love to do, and never have regrets.  I wish you luck, and promise you this IS the cure you are searching for...it works.
