HIV is haunting me!!!

Somebody please help me!
HIV is officially haunting me. I just spent a couple of days in the hospital from pneumonia. My doctor asked me if I had HIV which scared the hell out of me. She asked me several times. I told her I didn't think so. I was tested the next day with a rapid oraquick hiv-1 test and it came back negative. This is a list of my exposures and symptoms prior to that test.

3/3/06 - Unprotected one night stand - vaginal sex with a girl - NEGATIVE HIV-1 test 3 months later7/16/06 - Received Protected oral sex from stripper
9/23/06 - Unprotected Vaginal sex with friend
10/10/06 - Protected vaginal sex with girl i met a few weeks earlier
- I was also diagnosed with prostatitis in january 07.
1/25/07 - made out with stripper
1/26/07 - made out/grinded nude with girl i met night before - no penetrated sex.

mid feb - high fever for 4 days, chills, headache, night sweats, swollen lymph nodes, puss on tonsils, diarreah, vomiting, back pain, sore joints, trouble breathing, sore throat, etc. but no coughing or mucous which are characteristics of pneumonia.

okay. I know how you all feel with the impending doom that surrounds the prospect of HIV, At least for me and my sexual encounters that have been numerous led me to believe due my permiscuous lifestyle and complete disreguard for others made me deserved HIV. Thats why it was so easy for me to discount my negative results. I have done some pretty horrific things in my life and all my symptoms pointed toward HIV, and I too thought that I would be the first to contract HIV upon a technicality. If the only conclusive test says you don't have it, you don't have it. I have layed awake in my bed making bargains with God trying to rationlize my behavior and you can't. You past is your past and the future holds many possibilities. Get some good insurance if you don't already have it, examine all the possibilites that fuel your fears; ie chest xrays, infectious disease doctors, ect, and allow for them to disspell any anxiousness you feel. I can speak from experience when I say you will kill yourself with worry literally, and begin to manifest whatever symptoms you focus on. The mind is a funny thing. I don't know if you believe in God but try praying every night, talk out loud about your fears, if anything it will be cathartic.

I wish you peace

From what I read, the last time that you could have possibly contracted HIV was in October 2006 and that is still very slim.....your other encounters show your chances of contracting HIV as almost non-existent.

However, nothing I say or do will convince you otherwise except more HIV tests...your other symptoms may be signs of precursors to HIV, however, they are also signs of anxiety.

You truly need to speak with someone...BELIEVE ME, I KNOW YOUR FEAR and I am not trying to dismiss you, but no one can do anything for you at this moment.  You need to help yourself until your next test.

I know that you feel like you are the one in the million...we all feel that way when we suffer with this hightened anxiety.  Just hang in there...one day at a time...and you WILL make it through.

So over the past few days I've been experiencing tingling in my feet and hands...my leg muscles are also very week and feel like i just ran a marathon. I've read that soon after HIV ARS upon seroconversion some people go through something called Guillian-Barre Syndrome...Here are the symptoms of this disease.

Guillain-Barr

I also think you have an irrational fear of HIV. I don't think it is unusual that you are frightened because it is a very horrible disease and we should all be aware and as safe as possible. I totally agree with the other poster, a 6 month hiv test is best and if it comes out negative, (which I believe it will) You can put your mind at rest. I would suggest moving slowly into sexual relationships to get to know the person well first since this is a big issue for you. To be really safe, ask your potential partner to be tested along with you due to the serious nature. It seems like  an unnecessary action but for you, it may save hours and days of laying in bed scared of the unknown.

good luck,
Tony

I forgot to mention there are many conditions out there and you are only focused on HIV. You may be barking up the wrong tree.

Sparkler,

Don't you think my symptoms 3 weeks after my last exposures could very well be HIV ARS? I had weird puss things on my tonsils and throat that seemed like the exact description of oral thrush. I'm so confused! Will i be the first person to ever get HIV through "french kissing" or "frottage"? What else can it possibly be? The doc said pneumonia but every time i look up pneumonia it talks about a terrible cough and sputum - which i had neither of. I'm convinced this was HIV ARS!

You do not have hiv.  Your numerous tests have proved that & you never had any real exposure.  Forget what the doctor in the hospital asked you.  She can just revert to your tests if she questions your status again.

Yes, Young, healthy people DO get pnemonia.  Also, a lesson on HIV:

In order to contact HIV it has to be blood to blood or bodily fluids to blood.  You would have had to have an open wound on your penis, in your mouth, etc. wherever bodily fluids have touched.  It cannot be absorbed through skin.  Even though it is NEVER a good idea to have unprotected sex, it is not easy to contract even though it seems so.

It seems to me that you are clean.  At six months take another HIV test and that will be the clincher even though it is still 99% accurate at 5 months. (from what I have heard.)

Now, just an added morality piece.  Obviously, you have an irrational fear of HIV...maybe you should try staying celebate for a while and wait for a true relationship before engaging in this type of behavior.  I think it is worth the wait...and your life.

- given antibiotics in hospital which killed fever that night and into next day...puss on tonsils/throat went away after a few days.

2/19/07 - negative oraquick rapid gum swab test - i believe for hiv 1 and 2
2/19/07 - negative elisa test from doctor - don't really know which test it really was
2/20/07 - negative unigold hiv 1 blood test
2/26/07 - negative unigold hiv 1 blood test

last test on 2/26/07 was about 5 months post protected sexual exposure and 5.5 months post unprotected sexual exposure. I'm convinced this was BACTERIAL PNEUMONIA due to HIV or I was experiencing HIV ARS from my making out with stripper and other making out with other girl and grinding with her. I'm officially convinced that I have HIV even though STD clinician assured me I have nothing to worry about. I can't beat this feeling that I have HIV! I know I have it and haven't seroconverted yet or my last illness was due to HIV ARS. Young healthy people just don't get pneumonia.

Please! somebody help me.
