Has ANYONE tried Topamax or generic form: Topiramate

Hi People,

I have been SUFFERING from anxiety for about 10 years now. I describe it to others as a feeling very much like having had waaaaay too much caffeine and wanting to rip my skin off and run down the street screaming 24/7. I used to be a "normal" person and I don't know what happened or what this really is....apparently no one else in the medical community can tell me either. Very recently I was prescibed Tegretol for another issue and, like a miracle, it worked to immediately calm down my *anxiety*. The *anxiety* is physiological and NOT psychological. I feel like a human being when on Tegretol, but there are some pretty unattactive side effects. I experience a ravenous hunger, especially for sugar and carbs and eat like a starving dog. I have gained a lot of weight and have arthritis so gaining more weight on my joints is not advisable. My hair has fallen out to a noticable degree and I have dry mouth (who cares??!!). I want to try Topomax (topamax) or the generic form which is called Topiramate. Has ANYONE tried either one of these drugs for anxiety? I feel so alone.
