I have a HUGE phobia of death as well, but I don't think they sprouted from anything doing with a television show. I don't watch much television. It's hard to with your husband in the Military and owning your own business, hehe. But you gave some really good advice that I just might have to take as well!

Yes, it is possible to beat your fears...especially if you have figured out the triggers! For the longest time my fears, nightmares and phobia were all about death. How was I going to die?  Nightmares of people trying to kill me. I would set myself in full panic when I would hear the slightest sound at night thinking someone was on the house. I would wake my husband to check the doors and make sure no one was there. I learned that these would be worse after watching certain television programs, such as my favorites like Law & Order, CSI or Bones. I had saturated my head with all these "true crime" shows and it was creating unwanted and unnecessary panic & fears.
I have drastically slowed down my television viewing of these types of shows, especially at night. This has greatly decreased these thoughts and fears I associated with these shows.
If you can pinpoint the triggers that cause your fears... start there.
Sometimes, if the fear is, as you say, "irrational," and I know how irrational it sounds, I will tell myself just that. I have learned how to self-talk myself out of panic, or at least calm it down. I have also overcome some fears and phobias by eliminating the triggers that cause them.
This online tools is a great help for just that. Use the journal or mood trackers to write down how your feeling, what circumstances are going around you when have certain thoughts and/or feelings and the times that these feelings occur You should be able to start identifying those triggers.
I hope this has helped.

Not me, but let me know if you find out!

What are some of your fears or phobias? I know that joining this forum has really helped me, especially when I openly talk about it to others. Knowing that you're not alone is probably one of the biggest thing that will get you through this!
