Your chemistry could have been thrown out of whack. I would see an endocrinologist. I found I had two problems causing this symptom. I am being treated successfully and occasionally take doses of Xanax on an as-needed basis when I feel an attack coming on. Those attacks are rare now so I guess I am almost cured.
I totally understand that THOUGHTS do bring on anxiety and more anxiety. No doubt about it. It's a fact. Each thought you have actually creates a chemical reaction in your body! 24/7! No doubt!
But what I was trying to do was answer your direct question... which was...
"....how can I feel the symptoms if I don't fear something? "
And my answer was basically... "wish I knew... but some of us actually HAVE anxiety b/c of chemical offsets. And no fears at all. Thats why I was quoting my psychologist when he told me "not every panic attack or anxiety spell is caused by a thought. you can be feeling great! Not one negative thought... and all of a sudden... BAM! You start getting dizzy... flutters in your stomach.. chest. etc.... with NO explanation why..."
But the explanation is that IN FACT, some peoples anxiety is NOT just caused by thoughts... but a lot of it is just chemical imbalance... and the brain's "thermostat" is out of whack... and not acting properly... and of course there are other medical reasons too like thyroid issues that give people anxiety.
Hope I straightened myself out there. lol
To be honest anytime your body wants to get the adrenlyn factor going it will. You can keep it going however by worring why its there. O no why am I anxious, That alone is enough to stoke the old nerves into it. If you have been checked out and your ok. Let it come when it wants to and go when it wants to.
hey guys thank you for replying...
cnote :) nice to see ya replying .. I do agree w/u however i think in most anxiety cases'cause are thoughts..fearing illness, fearing death, fearing ...many other things..
As i told u in my reply to ur post that i use to be scared if i have any unusual symptoms but that wasn't disturbing me, i fear it > check it > result good = good feeling again (like your stool story :P ) ..
but now I am having the symptoms (physical) of anxiety because of my postportum hormones fluctuation.. physical symptoms are really ugly! fatigue or weakness or shaking etc...
As I said now it's much better with me and without any treatment because usually postpartum issues if they are not so bad they vanish alone by time..
George, I think your case is due to chemical imbalace...
you know what is interesting? that there are many illness they do pop-up anxiety and/or depression symptoms in our body but doctors directly adresses these symptoms without looking at the real cause.
My friend was treated for depression and the main problem that she was diaabetic ..our family friend also had very bad anxiety and depression and took pills for nothing because her problem was (perimenaupose!) and once setting up the hormones level everthing has vanished...!
Good luck for u guys and nice to hear from you how you are doing!
Am sure that there are lots of reasons for anxiety, one of them being 'why do I have it?'.
When I get it there is no reason I know of for it. I can be sitting enjoying TV/walking along a beach on a bright day feeling good & suddenly ~ almost lightning flash like I start to feel really anxious. Guess that affects lots of us that way?If we knew the cause we could address it. I use meds, which for now at least are effective. Anxiety's not easy to live with, so it should be addressed without delay ~ it could get worse. But may not. Wish you luck. George
Having anxiety without invitation.... well, if it were that easy, none of us would have anxiety. I sure as heck wouldn't want to invite it. haha.
This is a deep broad question.
Hormones could indeed be giving you some of the symptoms.
We don't always invite anxiety in by our thoughts.
A lot of it is chemistry. Hence, even your hormones. People with thyroid issues experience symptoms of anxiety...
I just learned from my therapist that panic attacks are not always caused by a thought or fear... sometimes its just chemical! and the brain just kinda get's low on its serotonin... or whatever... its just can get out of whack... and cause panic attacks...
So, why do we have symptoms sometimes without fearing anything? I don't know really how to answer your question directly... I think we are all searching for that answer.
Take care. And sounds like you've got a strong head on your shoulders. =)
Your gonna be okay.
