Heart Racind and pulse being felt throughout whole body

Does anyone else get this? I've been having this for 2 weeks straight. As soon as I wake up, my heart starts racing and I can feel it pulsing through my whole body. It makes my body very shaky. Maybe I'm just having hyper-awareness of my heart beat. I can also feel it very strongly in my stomach which makes me queasy. Anyone else get this? Ive been getting it from the moment I get up until i fall asleep, if i wake up in the middle of the night I can feel it as well.

Well it seems you too know about the 'medicaton train'.
Seeing the psych on monday will be a good thing.  I'm sure there are things that you can do for relief.
Here's an article from the mayo clinic website that you may find helpful.

thanks MMahon, yes i used to see a psychiatrist a few years ago. ive been on buspar, celexa, paxil, zoloft, etc. then i tried the benzos, xanax and klonopin, finally klonopin was the only one that seemed to work. i just took it when i was feeling the anxiety. i didnt want to have to take something every day. the klonopin made me feel way better but im not sure it's something i can take now while i am still nursing. also, my gyno said he doesn't usually prescribe something like that, he would prefer i went to a psych for something like that. im calling the one he referred me to on monday. hopefully this will just pass! it's been hell for over two weeks!

Have you ever been to a psychiatrist or sought help for the depression/anxiety?
If so, what help did you get?
Having a baby and caring for them can be exciting but also stressful.  When my wife gave birth to my first child I was a basket case!  :-)  And I didn't have to do anything!!  It was like being hit by a 'taser' 24/7.  I laugh about it now but I wasn't laughing then..AT ALL! And I had 9 months too to prepare...go figure!
But I digress..
see below about paxil:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paroxetine#Paroxetine_and_pregnancy
"paroxetine is contraindicated in women who may become pregnant due to its teratogenicity and its high risk of withdrawal syndrome in both adults and neonates"
Thus I always recommend seeing a good psychiatrist for proper treatment.
There may be medications you can take that don't cause problems.
Little ones are just the greatest.  They will keep you occupied and take your mind off yourself for sure.  Take care of yourself for them.. God Bless!

thanks for your responses! i went to three doctors last week and had several blood tests done, all three doctors said it's anxiety, my gyno wrote me out a prescription for paxil but im not sure i want to take it yet. im still nursing my daughter and we are thinking about getting pregnant again soon so i really dont want to start getting on and off anti-depressants even though my doctor said it's entirely safe. i just have reservations about it.

this is not my first circus ride with depression/anxiety. ive been suffering from it for 10 years now. ive had every physical and mental symptom in the world. this heart racing through my veins and making me shaky feeling is new. i havent had any panic attacks in over 4 years and all of a sudden about two weeks ago, they just came back. im really not ready for them to be back, after 4 years, i thought they were finally gone.

These are very common symtoms of anxiety.  I experienced all those very same symptoms of both of you above. They are hard to deal with even if not severe.  Over time they can really wear you down.
It is possible that it may be something else so you should get a good physical exam just to rule things out.  Speak to your doctor about these symptoms while there so they get the full picture.
Are you going thru stressful things right now, good or bad?
Anxiety can  be different for different people.  It's causes and treatments can differ widely.
Your doctor can refer you to someone you can talk to about your symptoms and can lead you in dealing with them.  Don't be afraid to ask for help.
