My original experience with anxiety came from concerns about my heart health.  It is quite common in this community.  I spent months running from doctor to doctor trying to figure out what was wrong because I did not believe that it could possibly be anxiety (when it fact it actually was).

In my opinion, we become so sensitized what is going on within our bodies.  For example, I can feel myself rock with every heartbeat and can see my pulse in my neck, which can be very disturbing if we are worried about our hearts.  I just realize that when I am stressed I notice it even more, but as I learned to deal with it, I don't notice it as much anymore.  I also think that we also misinterpret our 'symptoms' as something wrong with us when in fact is a normal occurrence.

I still notice many things that go around in my chest area, but after counseling and learning about my health anxiety, I don't usually pay much attention to it now.  The feelings are still there, but I know that it is not anything physically wrong with me.  It does take time to confront it and there are good and bad days along the way, but with knowledge comes the power to understand and deal with it....keep us posted!
