Help!! Panic Attack???

My daughter has started having these attacks when we get into a heated disagreement.  She starts to shake all over, can't breathe, can't speak with out a long drawn out stutter.  Is anyone out there dealing with this?  Help!!!

How old is your daughter? Do you often have "heated disagreements? How is your relationship overall?
Has anything happened recently in your daughters life that may be causing her a great deal of stress? Are things going OK in school to the best of your knowledge?
When you "disagreee," is your daughter allowed to express her feelings openly to you"
A lot of questions, I know, but without a bit more background, it's hard for us to even hazard as guess as to why this could be happening.
If this happens again, stop the disagreement and go to your daughter. Hold her and have her take some very deep breaths. Reassure her that she's going to be OK. Talk quietly and calmly to her. I know this probably upsets you, but you can't let your daughter see that. You have to be totally in charge. If she calms down fairly quickly, it's my totally non-medical opinion that the disagreement or the way you two disagree is the trigger for these espisodes. When she is calm, forget the disagreement, (for the time being) don't just pick up where you left off.
Your daughter could just be emotionally overwrought or emotionally incapable of dealing with the feelings, often quite frightening in the young, that come with disagreeing with a parent/authority figure.
If this behavior continues every time you two have a disagreement, I would suggest you have your daughter see her doctor for an evaluation.
