Help me deal with HIV anxiety. On Citalopram now

I've been dealing for a few days with anxiety about a possible exposure. I have been able to do my work, but I don't know how long I can cope before my next test at 6 weeks. I've been taking Citalopram, but my anxiety only seem to worsen.

I have a long story of health phobias. I've been referred to a psychiatrist due to my history.

Anybody has some helpful tips on how I can cope better? Should I continue with Citalopram?

Thanks

What exposure risk did you have? Anal or vaginal and was it protected sex?

You have 38 posts since 2012 about HIV so you already knew the risks long ago. Today's question on the anxiety forum was answered on the
HIV forum this week, so you obviously are never satisfied with the answers you receive. This is an obsession and needs to be studied one on one by a therapist instead of a bunch of internet chats.

You would be better off with therapy than endless questioning on boards about HIV risks and fears when you already know the answers but keep vainly hoping a different calming result will occur.

How long have you been on citalopram(aka Celexa) which takes up to 8 weeks to get a full result  and what is your dosage?
I would do therapy and skip the Celexa if possible because your issue is straightforward (although that doesn't mean you will be able to get rid of your obsessive paranoia, at least it is something a therapist can get right into immediately instead of trying to figure what causes your anxiety) , however this is between you and your doctor.
I was like 5 days on  20 mg Citalopram once a day. I noticed my anxiety worsening. I'm off of it now, and feel somewhat better. My doctor ordered a psychiatric evaluation due to my fears and other issues. So I have an appointment with a psychiatrist in 2 weeks.
