I take zoloft as well and it truly help s with the panic. My father passed away recently and the fear of death came crashing around me. Its hard to work through it but therapy is a huge step in the right direction. Also coming on here and venting is helpful. Most of all, know you are not alone. We all understand your fear, panic and anxiety here.
I don't even remember if it did.
Yes, what triggered my anxiety was the death of one of my cousins. Big moments in your life can definitely trigger those things.
Did the medicine not help you? Did you notice any changes? and did you have anxiety within those two years when you were not on it.
I started going back to my therapist today. she said she thinks the thoughts happened because the panic attacks scared me into thinking I was dieing and 2 months ago i saw my grandmother get hurt and that could have caused them do you think so? I am not on any medicine, I havnt been for 2 years, I use to take zoloft
I have also had a lot of scares with anxiety. I have visited the ER multiple times because i thought I was dying. the most important thing is to stay strong and remember who you are. grasp the concept that you obviously would never do anything terrible enough like hurt yourself. you cannot let the anxiety take control over your life.
Look at it like a challenge, and every time you have those thoughts, think about why you are even having them. also try things like writing journals and talking to friends about it.
But most importantly stay away from energy drinks and caffeine. if you have insurance see a doctor. When i went through a spell of always getting anxious i finally had to go to the doctors cause i couldn't function, and after just taking one pill anxiety was gone from my thoughts for a while. it can really help.
Hi Always, part of what your going through realizing your humanity as a living person. Part of growing is accepting things, like the stars above, our solar system and all of creation as a whole. Things are there and things happen and some things dont have a answers. Thats where the saying the love conquers comes in. Try to have feelings of love for all creation and not feelings of fear. With fear nothing is gained but with love, there is understanding in all things.
Your feelings are also similar to those that find out there is no such thing as Santa Claus or the tooth fairy. That moment of realization changes the entire way the now percieve things. Its the same with your death thoughts. you now know that you are part of this life which is a true blessing from the Creator.
Find you place in this world by getting involved with society and studying and learning how to help mankind to reach a better day.
We are all in this world together and our place here is to love and to teach wisdom and understanding to those in need of encouragement.
Even at 17, you have a wealth of knowlege that you can share with the world. so go out and get involved in living this grand thing we call life.
Try to develop a deep sense of spiritual insight to the God of you belief. Try praying daily and be thankful for what you have. A strong God consciousness can really help you to get through all the unknowns.
