Hi, I am new here...

I am a 41 yo female, and I have GAD along with panic and severe arachnophobia.  I have had this as long as I can remember, and it is genetic, so it will not just go away... I will need to be on medication(s) for this the rest of my life.  I am okay with that, as long as the medications are working, which they aren't very well at the moment.  I have had alot of anxiety lately, as well as some panic attacks.  I take 100mg zoloft once a day, along with .05mg lorazepam 3x daily, and have been on this mix a few years now.  I have an appt to see my doctor soon, and am considering asking him to try me on klonopin.  Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.  It is springtime here, and the spiders are back out and that is bad for me.  Thanx!

No, I have never been in therapy, because I can't afford it.  I rely on self-help books, and anything I can find for free on the web.  Thank you so much for your support and encouragement... this site has been a wonder.

Welcome to the forum BluCrystal!

Please post at the Alternative Therapies or message me directly, as I have some possibly helpful  holistic advice,  that is not supposed not to be posted here (forum rules).
(And  definitely, I will not suggest that you get off your meds,
as it may not be safe to do so at all.) My suggestions are strictly complimentary to
your existing therapy.

If interested , you may post any information and details, in regards to your
condition. Please include any traumatic events from your past (physical or emotional).
Take care and God Bless,

Are you or have you been in therapy? I would urge you to seek out a therapist rather than ask your family practice doc to experiment with different meds that will numb your symptoms rather than try to treat your anxiety. Just a suggestion.

Meanwhile, keep the house clean, cool and well lit. Leave your windows and doors shut. Sweep away any webs you might see under furniture or in corners. Minimize the chances of a spider making it's presence known.
