High HeartBeat All Day

Would this be the start of panic attack or something?

Today I had a pretty strong cup of coffee in the morning. Soon after my heart was beat fast and strong and I felt shakey (not in a weak way though) and a bit almost hyped up (a bit like if you have ever taken duramine)

Anyway I just blamed it all on the coffee but then tonight Im laying here having done no exercise and realise my heart is still going fast!!

I measured my heart beat from both my neck and my wrist for 15 secs and it was 27 and then 26 beats. times by 4 is about 108 beats per min.

Should I be worried?

I have just moved states and started a new job and have been nervous when going on the train to and from work. Slowly through the week I had been feeling giddy in my stomach in the afternoon's.

Could my racing heart be part of that?

Is it serious that its so high? Is 108 per min high?

Please help cause I dont know where any Dr's are yet. And it would put my mind at ease to know its not something urgent..

Please help

the script says

Deralin Tablets 40mg qty 100
Take one tablet twice a day

thats it..

and all i know is what the dr said. his exact words were 'its something to slow your heart to calm you down'

I have tried find info out via google, but I dont understand the jargon and there arnt alot of peoples posts saying they have taken it.

Seems to be for Angina sufferers.

Am I being too harsh on this Dr? It was a bulk billing medical centre. Should I be right in expecting better information etc or should I just be happy I got a script and a medical cert?

Back in QLD my Dr was awesome. I had to pay him but he would sit down and have a chat bout what was going on in my life and then we would get onto whatever was wrong. Only took 15mins and I left the surgery feeling really good.

I miss my old Dr :(

Well went to the Dr today. He spent maybe 5 mins with me.. didnt even take my blood pressure, he just checked my pulse with his fingers and wrist watch and said it was fine.

he went on to tell me that I was having panic attacks due to my sweaty palms (he didnt ask me if I had sweaty palms when I had the fast heartbeat all yesterday.. because I didnt.. it was just hot today and I get sweaty anyway)

So in the end said he would give me a script for a tablet to slow my heat down (even though he said it was ok). I asked him what the tablet was called and he just repeated it was for a tablet to slow my heart.

he then gave me a medical cert and sent me on my way.

I feel so confused. I dont even know what Im taking. The pharmacy told me all the side effects possible. So at least I know that.

i just feel like I have been brushed off. I didnt even have a chance to tell him about my history or anything.

I know it probly is a panic attack, but why wouldnt he refer me to someone who can talk to me and help me stop this before it gets worse?

Im just feel so alone at the moment. I dont know anyone so I cant talk bout it at all.

:(

thats a NORMAL HR for what you wrote above, STOP coffee for a week, see how you feel, have you  had a physical as of late?? and the last bit you write, yes them are VALID stressers!! hang in there, do not take your own HR etc. I have seen to many people become Looney tunes, always checking HR BP etc... your body will regulate itself!!
