Hello :)
I'd say, it might be a good idea to go and confront your fears. However, saying that, if you really feel as though it would worsen your situation, perhaps it's a good idea to stay home.
You have plenty of time to recover, obviously it's not always straight-forward thing, so you can always stay home, try what you can to help yourself feel better and just take your time "you have your whole life ahead of you" as they say.
Best wishes :)
Thanks for that. I have some left over sleeping pills so can use them but would use them for extremes. I can use those Kalms pills which do seem to help too. I think you got a point for the paying extra for having a room on my own.
Never thought about the thryroid. Might be worth a look as my sister had the same issues with thyroid and she went a bit weird and seemed to speed up and became a bit hyper. Her driving became quite extreme for someone so solid with her emotions. Since it's been treated and she's returned to normal.
I do get panic attacks after life events and it lasts for 2-3 years. This is my 3rd event and now I'm 43. Should be used to it by now but this disorder seems to always make you forget that you've been through this a thousand times before and nothing happened.
Thanks a lot. I'll give it a go. :)
Is there any additional meds your Pdoc can give you for the attacks.
I'm glad you learned Cbt. That should be somewhat helpful.
Another thing I was wondering , have you had your thyroid and addrenals checked? Something else could be causing your attacks.
If it were me I'd try to go on the trip. I wonder if you could pay extra for your own room if that's causing a stressful feeling.
Exercise is great for anxiety control. Glad you do the cycling.
Also yoga and breathing exercises can help control panic. Good luck. Maxy
