How can I come off xanx safely when you have been taking it for over a year and with children to take care of

I have been taking alpozalam for a while now because I have an anxiety disorder which was bought on by another illness that I have.  Now I want to get off of it and it is hard because my body feels weird and I am afraid to go out by myself with that I get very bad muscle spasms when I tried to come of it and its so bad that sometimes I will pass out but most of the times it is hard to breathe while this is happening to me.  I want to get off and my doctor who just started seeing me just prescribed me something else without knowing why I was put on it in the first place or having me take different blood tests which was what my orginal doctor did before this doctor took over the practice.  I am scared of taking the other prescription because when I saw what it was for I could not bring my self to take it because I don't get seziures.  He takes urine and tells me that is how he knows what to give me.  I also have a thyroid condition.  With no health insurance and the income that comes in it is hard to see another doctor.  what should I do?

The reason that you should take an anti-anxiety/anti-seizure drug (possibly "Kolonpin"); is so you can slowly stop taking xanax with a dramatically reduced risk for serious life threatening withdraw symptoms like seizures among others. Ask your doctor questions if you have concerns.

There are no safe medications for anxiety  - they all cause neuroadaptation and can have horrible years long withdrawal - I went through it - 100 times worse than my worst anxiety

I was on xanax (alprazolam) for over 20 years due to an acute anxiety disorder.  When I finally learned the effects of long term use, I quickly decided to stop taking alprazolam. - I sought the help of a specialist and found a wonderful Psychiatrist, who was also a doctor of pharmacology. - with his help, it took me approximately 1 1/2 years to safely come off of alprazolam. - I now use a much newer and safer medication to treat my anxiety and it works wonderfully - I have not felt this good in years!
PLEASE do not try to stop the alprazolam on your own - Find a experienced doctor who can help you reduce your dose gradually without the horrible withdrawal side-effects.
Best of Luck! - And congratulations for wanting to stop the Alprazolam!
