How can I get the terrible scene

I'm a 13 years old and I've seen a video lately and it freaked me out. There was this guy and he jumped and accedently fell. His face was cut into half because of it. I can't get his picture out of my head. I'm afraid that it's going to start to be an issue. I actually cried when I saw the video. How can I get it out of my head? Please, help.

I am so sorry that you had to see that video, it sounds awful. My daughter is 13 as well as she watched a scary movie that really had her very upset. I slept in the living room with her that night so we could each sleep on a couch and if she had a nightmare I would be right there. Can you talk to your parents and let them know how you are feeling? Also try watching some videos of things you love and try to get right into it and hopefully the image will go away. But please talk to your parents, and if it keeps being an issue then maybe have them take you to your doctor. Sending hugs to you. I hope you are able to have a good night sleep. Remember it was an image, although horrible it cannot harm you in any way.

Habits are hard to break.     One of them is the need to watch gory movies with your friends,  gory videos,  gory TV shows with friends or alone.        In the future say no thanks and stay away from theses TV shows, movies, videos, etc which keep getting worse BECAUSE they seem to be popular and generate sales which generates money to the companies who produce them.    Say no to this industry which produces them.

Ps I have just read my message back to myself and I apologise for the mistakes, in the first sentence the words 'ways of' should not be there, so sorry if it didn't make sense.

Hiya smiley queen, there are ways of techniques that can help us control what we think about and allow to enter our minds and I'll share what I knw with you.

There is a method called visulization, whenever this very upsetting image enters your mind say to yourself 'stop' freeze the image in your mind, like pressing pause on the dvd player, then take that image and see it in your mind getting smaller and smaller until it is the size of a small photo, then drain all the colour out of it so it looks black and white and again it becomes smaller until it is completey gone. While doing this mind control exercise feel your body becoming relaxed and free from fear.  You can use this exercise to help overcome any fear you develop and if you pratice it enough it will become a new best friend.  It may be hard at first to keep totally concentration but keep practicing.

Remember you have control over the thoughts that enter your mind and if you don't want them there you can choose for them not to be, you just need to control your mind.

This technique by the way is used and has been used by a lot of pychologists, Hypnotherapists so it is a trusted technique that proves to have great results.

Just give it a go and I promise you if you put time and effort into doing the exercise you'll not be bothered by bad, fearful thoughts as you'll have the power to control them.

Good-luck hun x
