How come Ativan is not working?

My psych. put me on Ativan when my clonazapam wore off.  I have been dealing with anxiety for that past 15 years.  He has me on 2 mg of Ativan but is not helping the the anxeirty at all.  It makes me sleepy but does'nt relax me.  I been losing alot of hair where it's noticable.  This is causing extreme anxiety.  I'm going to another M.D. for that tomorrow.  Will Xanax work better?  It bothers me when some of my friends joke about Xanax.  Some people really need med.s like these.  That's why I don't see it as a joking matter.

i really don't mind the joking as much as when someone abuses xanax who doesn't need it to begin with. i know this just means they have problems of their own...but still, if they only knew what the people who really need it feel like. oh well.

Ativan is a very very very mild Xanax kind of.... So it's prob not doing much to you. You may need some xanax. Some people actually need it.
