How do you sleep?

I'm just wondering what types of things people use for sleeping, and how good their sleep is. My anxiety for the most part only really shows up right before I go to bed, during the night, or first thing in the morning. I get really shaky, tingly, and then numb on almost a nightly basis when I'm trying to sleep. I feel numb all over, but especially in the arms and legs and the shaking is mostly in my stomach. Does anyone else experience this?

As for me my doctor has me on a low dose of Amitriptyline to help me sleep, I also sometimes take Tylenol Sleep Aid (not the painkiller, just the sleep aid.)

Right now I'm taking 22.5 mg. of Remeron for sleep, and it helps  put me to sleep and keep me asleep as well. I've been plagued by early waking over the years, so I'll occasionally take ativan, but I'm trying to stick to the Remeron. At first it is very sedating, with some daytime hangover, but I  found that my body soon adjusted to it. I suffer from
anxiety and depression. Unfortunately, trazadone didn't work for me.

I also use 50 mg of Trazadone and it works very well. I go right to sleep and sleep thru the night. Before it took forever to fall asleep and stay asleep. I have high anxiety and bipolar disorder.

Yeah I get the tremors almost everynight and the nightsweats once in a while. The tremors or buzzing is what bothers me the most.

Perhaps you should ask your doc if you can up your dose during the periods of high anxiety or just keep it at a higher dose since it sounds it really isn't keeping your anxiety at bay.
It's not used much these days but was a very popular drug back in the day. I hear it being used for more 'off label' things of late then for insomnia.

It does help me fall asleep and usually stay asleep, but when my anxiety is extra high it doesn't really do much.

I have had the best success with trazadone - 50mg at bedtime. It's really solved my sleep problems.  You may want to ask your doc to increase your dose of amitriptyline and see if that helps.  Does it help you now at all?  I tried  it decades ago and found it much too stimulating for me.
