How long does effexor withdrawl(withdrawal) last?

I have tapered off effexor over a 4 week period and began 150 of Wellbutrin (eventually will be 300). I am having an extremely hard time with the dizziness and the "brain zaps" (couldn't fingure out how to describe them) I feel like I am constantly about to black out.   I am also on edge, crying on and off, angry and I feel like I am 2 different people. I am absolutely miserable. I have to go back to work in 5 days and I don't know if I can teach like this. I am hurting my husband and feel like I am being a bad mother. How long will this withdrawl (withdrawal) last? Should the welbutrin help once my does is at 300mg? I was on effexor before I had my daughter and do not remember having this much difficulty coming off of it.

Be careful with welbutrin, ask your Doctor to check your BP, I have known a few people who were taking it and their Blood pressure was going nutty. They talked about feeling like they were going to pass out. Dizziness is also a withdrawl (withdrawal) effect of effexor, but it should go away after about 2 or three days. My doc said to drink ice water and walk to bring my blood pressure up and rest will usually help you if its high. Good luck and stay calm and breathe in through your nose and exhale through your mouth, it will help your crying and anger to calm. Talk to your Doc ASAP about your blood pressure though.

Thanks! I was put on blood pressuare meds (age of 26 yet only weight 110lbs) and maybe that coming off the effexor has lowered my PB enough to where the bp meds are making my blood pressure too low??

Glad to be of help! My Bp went way low after switching meds once and I could not even walk without wanting the throw up or fall on my face. The ice water seemed to help me out alot. Good Luck
