I am cured! :)

Hi everyone, this really is a great place here. I've been reading many of the stories that sounded a lot like me. I just wanted to share mine just in case it may help others now that we found the CAUSE. Anxiety and panic attacks for me began at 10 years old. I suffered for many years from this horrible condition. At about 15 years old, we found out about Biofeedback therapy and have never taken any medication. Biofeedback was so wonderful and helped me immensely to where I didn't have another attack for several years. Then at 19, the anxiety came back, although somewhat more controllable, along with a ton of stomach issues to where I lost about 20 pounds. Keep in mind, I am a little over 5'3 about 108 pounds and it took me down to 88 pounds. It was very scary and I felt like I couldn't breathe well most of the time. I saw a naturapathic doctor and finally we discovered the real cause after I went on a food elimination diet. It was food allergies!!! The worst one was gluten, which is in wheat, barley, rye and sometimes oats. Now I stay away from milk, corn, and most soy as well as peanuts and now I am fine. The entire time it was that!!! I suggest reading the fascinating book called "Don't Drink Your Milk". In the book, there's a story of a psychiatrist who began finding out that his patients with mental illnesses were really having reactions to foods, whether it be sensitivities or allergies. Once he was able to identify the foods for his particular patients, their anxiety or depression would vanish. Something to think about guys! And even though food allergies can be limiting, their is a new freedom that comes from knowing the cause and knowing what to do about it. It's been over 3 years now and as long as I stay off the offending foods, I have not had one panic attack or suffered from anxiety since. So guys, I highly recommend looking into this as a cause of the anxiety symptoms. Getting some kind of testing for allergies or going on an elimination diet can be so helpful. Hopefully this can help someone else! I would love to hear comments too from others if you would like to post some.

Just wanted to add, gluten is always in oats, as well as spelt, kamut, amaranth, probably quinoa, teff, and probably some other grains as well.

Awesome good to hear that you are cured:D
Even I figured out that i had a caffeine sensitivity, so I stopped having coffee, tea and chocolate and sodas. It has helped a great deal... but still my anxiety is not over, I still feel anxious and lightheaded quite a lot.  But quitting caffeine has helped immensely.
