I am taking effexor  for the last 6 months.  I am 55 years old.
I forget names, things I just did, things I did a long time a go.
I want to know if anyone else is having the same problem with effexor or any other antidepresson. i feel all this happened after I start taking this pill. Thank you in advance.

Oh, y es, effexor was not good for me AT ALL! I totally lost my marbles along with my memory; it may help some, but I can certainly say it increased my anxiety/depression 20,000-fold!  You have to search for the right balance in a med - zoloft works great for me. All the meds say that if you experience any of your symptoms to notify your doc as it may not be the right med for you.  Best of luck...........

I too have memory problems on Effexor Xl, was on only 75mg for 3 yrs, not as many problems as I now have on 150mg. Long term mem. is less affected.Have had many different AD's/Therap ~ CBT/Interpersonal Psych. Therapy etc ~ Am coping OK now, but the night sweats/memory problems/sleep problems/low sex drive/confusion et al. But have had similar effects on other drugs. Have accepted that my memory's shot, but prefer the benefits of Effexor to the Severe Anx/Dep ~ hospital stays etc So many drugs to be on, my feeling's that the 'latest' is often prescribed, but they are no more effective than the older Trycyclics ~ but the Trcyclics had their rotten side effects too. Your choice. Best wishes
