I am a 19 year old guy who had sex with an escort 7 days ago. It was protected sex but after the incident I have not been able to live properly. I cannot sleep. I cannot think. I am always worrying about HIV...... Today suddenly starting from my chest, my neck, my forehead and my stomach I have started having rashes. I have seen that rash due to HIV occurs two week after infection. This is too early for it to appear. Does anyone know whether it has anything to do with anxiety???? bcoz this rash on touching starts burning and itching..... PLZ REPLY I AM GONNA DIE..... Someone PLZ HELP ME .........

I am not a doctor but consider myself an expert in panic since I've had it for 40 yrs. Trust me you are having a severe panic attack and possibly hives from nerves probably from your feeling guilty. Why do you have to tell your parents anyway? I wouldn't tell them. you made 1 mistake. We are human and I'm sure your parents have made mistakes you don't even know about. Keep it to yourself and calm yourself down. Take an antihitamine like benadryl and see if it helps your rash then you will know. Good luck.

Health anxiety can be a real pain in the you know what, in my opinion.  First of all, you had protected sex, so you are in the clear in my opinion.  If you are still worried about it, go ahead and get tested, but believe the results....the "what if?" cycle of thinking can really take over if one is not careful in my experience.  Furthermore, when dealing with health anxiety, people tend to link any symptom to what they believe they might have.

Do you think your anxiety issues might be rooted in guilt or another source?  Please keep us posted!
